It is not a place I will recommend. The rooms are not nice. No services Everything is closed at 8pm It is better to take the breakfast outside in the village. I advice to take a room in a hotel in Sydney which is not so far

My husband and I often visit the fortress to enjoy their period lunches and the warm atmosphere. A must see if you travel to cape Breton. The history and buildings allow you to step back in time. Very well done!

Nothing special, but nothing bad about this place either. Rooms and amenities were adequate, although a bit overpriced. Front desk staff wasn't the friendliest that I've encountered. Did not eat at the restaurant, so can't comment on that.

Came here for breakfast and we had eggs, pancakes and assorted breads. Coffee was OK and service was slow because the server was handling the attached gift shop and restaurant. Decent for breakfast, not sure about other meals.

Great informative entertaining (general grounds tour.) Other options for different tours was nice. Friendly staff! Super grounds and fun for kids. Delicious fried haddock and a pint for lunch in the old pub. Really enjoyed wandering and exploring on our own especially.

We arrived late at night and the staff were very helpful and accommodating. Grateful for a room that seemed clean, linens were crisp white and clean, smelled fresh. Wifi was free and good and breakfast the next day well made and promptly served. That's where the good ended. Bed was old and quite uncomfortable old furniture was wobbly and the...

Fish was from a box. Bartender did his best to serve us when no one else would. Poor guy he tried. This was the only restaurant open for the Celtic colours concert. Missed opportunity. We will not return.

Motel did not not have a record of our reservation. Room was basic, poorly maintained with air conditioner and bed reading light not working, and I was unable to secure the window. No fridge in room, and ice machine not working. The woman serving at the bar and dining room was very helpful, and the food in the restaurant was...

Very pricy for what you get. The rooms smell musty. The floors are soft and probably rotten. There is a shortage of hot water. The hairdryer didn't work. They don't even have breakfast included. Considering the smell and soft floors I did not even use the coffee maker. No bar fridge or microwave. Avoid.

Got a room because it was raining and didn't want to set up our tent at Mira Provincial Park. This ended up being a nice place. Average room with two double beds, small fridge, coffee pot, tv. Restaurant on the premises was nice. Good food.
