Staying at Clayton Farm was a treat! The farm is quiet, but Isaac is always working on it. The furnishings and decor fit the old house well and display the history of the family's home. Breakfast is outstandingly prepared by Janie who is very kind and makes wonderful meals. The area is excellent for a short drive to downtown Mabou... More

This inn is fantastic! The house and its rich history, the operating farm, the vistas through the window, the trails through the property, the breakfasts (the homemade granola was my favorite!), and its place in the community of Mabou - it's a special place. We even got to have dinner with Isaac at the Red Shoe Pub one night we... More

We almost missed the little sign by the side of the road at the end of a very long farm driveway. We decided to stay here because it was getting late and everywhere else we tried was full. We're not bed and breakfast people so when we found out that there were only two bathrooms for four rooms, we had... More

My teen-aged daughter and I stayed at Clayton Farm B & B in late August 2016. It was a magical place to arrive on a rainy Nova Scotia afternoon. A long driveway past the pasture where the red angus cattle graze leads you to the farmhouse where Issac Smith lives and has his lovely B & B. He is a... More

My husband and I stayed at Isaac's farm for 2 nights on our honeymoon trip to Nova Scotia. We were greeted warmly by Janie and a little grey and white cat when we arrived. Our room was lovely - light and airy, very clean and comfortable. Isaac introduced himself later that evening, and both he and Janie had excellent recommendations... More

We happened upon this B&B when no others for miles around had availability. This was a great stroke of luck and the highpoint of our Cape Breton trip. You can miss the sign at the turnoff if you are not paying attention. Look for the picture of the red Angus cow head. This is a working farm run by lovely... More

We really enjoyed our stay in this character farmhouse. We had a lovely breakfast and met the other guests. We never had any problems with noise or with the shared full bathrooms. We decided this was our favourite of the three places we stayed on our trip. Isaac was great very friendly and informative. Very close to what we wanted... More

Clayton B&B was simply delightful. Excellent breakfast each morning, a very clean and lovely house, excellent views, close to town... Isaac and Kathy are truly wonderful people. I would stay here each time I visit the island.

When we arrived Isaac was on the barn roof doing repairs.... This is a working farm and life can't stop just because there are visitors. We took Isaacs advice and went for a walk around the farm. ... down the path to the lake edge. We chatted to the cows, cats and squirrels then went back to change for our... More

We had a large twin shared room with shared bath, including nice, hot showers. Isaac, the owner, was very helpful and friendly. He told us about the history of the farm and the ceilidhs on that night. We had a good breakfast and enjoyed visiting with the other guests, including some of his relatives.
