My wife and I were delighted to have our son and his friend join us at the Duncreigan Inn on a trip to celebrate his 50th birthday. This is our third visit. We enjoyed the Inn with its wonderful breakfast. This year we found the walking trail just across the highway and delighted in seeing several eagles. We ate at...

Firstly; I am from Cape Breton; I have to say that the Duncreigan is a must for travellers going to this beautiful Island. Its situated in the heart of Mabou and the view of the river is breathtaking... the service is outstanding ... very private and peaceful. At night you can relax ... listen to the river... and beyond see...

My wife and I spent three memorable and relaxing evenings in Mabou, NS at the Duncreigan Country Inn. The Inn offered us everything we could have wanted (and needed) during our stay... Very comfortable accommodations (large room actually), a great bathroom with a good shower...always a plus, and, without a doubt, the best breakfast every morning. And ample off-street parking,...

My husband and I did the Celtic Shores trail via ATV this weekend. We were lucky enough to get a room last minute at this very quaint Inn along the river. We were very pleased when we pulled in to see plum and pear trees full of fruit. We received a kind welcome from a lady who showed us around...

We stayed here one night on our way north on Cape Breton Island. I chose to stop in Mabou so that we could visit the Red Shoe Pub (great food and music!), and it was also a nice driving distance from Halifax. The property is just a 10 minute walk from town. It's right off the road, but feels very...

Whichever way you are traveling in Cape Breton, clockwise, or counterclockwise. make it a point to stay here. The rooms are lovely, all the owners and staff extremely hospitable, and the morning breakfast as good...

My (adult) daughter and I stayed here a few weeks ago, the first inn of our trip, and they set a high standard. Room #3 was lovely, and as they'd had a last minute cancellation, they offered my daughter her own room in the stand-alone building for one of our two nights there. The breakfasts were delicious, and Steve even...

My wife and I were looking for a place to stay after driving a good chunk of the Cabot Trail and decided to head down the Ceilidh Trail to Mabou. What a great decision. Thankfully the Duncreigan Inn had a cancellation and we were able to secure a room. It was awesome. Beautiful old home right on the lake and...

We booked for 2 nights, room number 4, a very spacious bedroom, with another smaller sitting room.. the decor was outdated, and the general feeling for us was outdated perhaps even unloved (it was very clean), the bed was comfy. The view from our room was partially blocked, not really much to see. A/C worked but didn't cool both rooms...
