The hotel was cheap, but one can still get less what one pays for. As we checked in, the air conditioner / heater in the room did not work. So we were moved to the room next door.

The room is very basic furnished. The dead-bolt in the door to the parked car outside was missing, see photo. The safety chain to the door to the hallway was missing, see another photo. The bathrooms hand-wash basin support pipes were misaligned and at different angles. The chair at the desk looked like home made and the TV must have been from the 80s as it was still the good old tube I remember from my younger days..

Do not stay here. The room was filthy and smelled awful. Stains everywhere and I don't think it was vacuumed in the past month. I would not stay here again if it was the only motel available. I'd rather sleep in my car.

We checked in the internet works in lobby but not in the rooms, our room keys could not be programmed - meaning we couldn't leave the room. The staff at the front desk and cleaning were extremely helpful and great, unfortunately, the owner is the rudest person I have encountered in the hospitality industry - I witnessed him yelling at a customer in the morning, when we required his assistance to get back in our room after a terrible breakfast, he took attitude and began yelling at us. He apparently runs Skye Lodge as well - NOT RECOMMENDED We are not picky people and don't often complain, but this experience was the worst ever in many years of travelling.

I have stayed in hotels, motels, airbnbs, tents and even a barge in North America and Europe. This is by far the worst place that I have ever stayed. Service desk- waited 10 minutes with no one at desk, finally I asked the lady who was cleaning the dining room to help. She could not find my online booking(I had a copy with ref #) so she checked us into a room. We were early so when we came back at 9pm, our swipe card would not work, the nice young guy at the desk reactivated it for us. the room was occupied when we entered it....how embarrassing for both parties. The desk confusion was so overwhelming with total mixup of rooms and customers waiting. I have never seen the likes of it. We finally were offered a room. AC didnt work and had smell coming from it, room dirty, dust under beds, the toilet lid had hair and browns stains and you couldnt even close the bathroom door because it hit the toilet seat! The TV didnt work. I slept on top of the covers. I could go on and on but i think you get the picture. At checkout an Asian couple(who I think run it) didnt give me a receipt. This place is deplorable! Parking was adequate and the breakfast was minimal but acceptable.

This is an old property but that doesn't mean that it should not be kept up. The toilet tank in our room needed repair because you could hear the water draining out of it all the time. The remote control for the TV was missing. The WiFi didn't work. The room was not as pictured on the site. The "hot complementary breakfast" was a disappointment. The only thing hot was the coffee and the toast that you made yourself. There were 2 kinds of cereal, 2 kinds of bread, 1 kind of fruit and the orange "juice" was orange drink made with crystals. When we paid, were were not given a printed hotel receipt as other places do, just the receipt from the debit machine. The person at the desk said he would deliver it to our room later, but didn't. In the morning when we checked out, the owner who doesn't speak or understand much English was unable to give me the receipt indicated that it would be emailed to us later. Didn't happen. It was like she didn't want to use the paper. Also, the hallways were dimly lit, not all the lights were on, probably another cost saving measure on their part. The room was not as pictured on the site. The site has a room that is furnished nicely modern with light colored linen and walls. Our room was dark and dreary, dark paneling on the walls, dark carpet, dark comforter on the bed. The room appeared to be clean except for a stain on the rug. The furniture was from the 50s and not in good shape. I would not use this property again. We have stayed at better for less.
