Stayed in a 2 bedroom deluxe cottage and were really pleased. We have payed more for much smaller cottages in Cavendish - the size of this cottage was perfect for our family (2 adults, 2 kids). The cottage was immaculately clean, had a dishwasher, stove/oven, fridge, and good space for dining and lounging. One bedroom had a queen size bed...

These cottages need more than a little TLC; they are a safety hazard. If you could look past the sofa with the giant iron mark branded into it and the light held up by tape in the bathroom or the fact that some of the lights were missing covers, or even the wall panels bulging out and a dirty pool...

This was a great location. However rooms are very out dated. The swimming pool had nails sticking out of the wood. My son slept on it and scratched his foot. When I told the staff all they said was oh. I then asked if they would like me to show them where the nails were. They said no thank you.

This place had everything we needed. Friendly staff, great price, cozy cabin.. Would stay again. Be sure to ask for pass to get into the national park, I didn't realize that this was an option but was delighted (it normally costs a fee to enter the gate to the beach and look out points)

I booked a cottage online and was a bit sceptical but I was very happy to see that the cottage was very much like the pics online. The cottage was very clean and had a lot of little things that we did not expect there to be such as dish soap, sugar, coffee and a lot of other things. Jay...

My son insisted we book a cottage at Avonlea due to the great location. All the attractions are within walking distance which is a plus with 4 teenage boys. The checkin process was quick, the 3 bedroom cottage was so very clean (a little small for 6 grown ups) and the service was better than ever. On our second night,...

We stayed there (for the 2nd year in a row) for the weekend of June 27-29th. It is a lovely place to stay (2 adults, 2 kids). The cottages are very well equipped, with everything needed. The AC had a bit of a hard time keeping up with the crazy heat, but other than that it was perfect! The water...

Came here in low season so were upgraded to a cottage with dishwasher and spa bath. Our only disappointment was with the failure of the wifi connection which didn't work at all. They really need to get this sorted. When you are so far from home then driving to a car park near a motel isn't acceptable for keeping in...

we went at avonlea cottage for 3 days for a wedding and it was perfect. It was super clean, comfortable and located not to far from the beach and some shops in the area. even if we were the closest chalet from the street, we did not hear anything. It was a great stay. would love to go back for...

“Book early because people reserve cottages a year in advance. If you can afford it, choose a larger cottage than you think you need.”

“We had the cottage #1. It was a bit more private (as opposed to the other cottages), but when outside (the fire pit is in front), we're facing the road that drives to Shining Waters... and there was quite a bit of traffic on those days. Not a deal breaker for us, but something to consider.”

“Get a unit with air conditioning!!! And the units further back on the property (check their website for the map, but 18-20 looked good) are quieter and more private.”
