The room was clean/quiet/a little musty and affordable. The $4.99 breakfast was great. The pool was reasonably well kept. The hotel was a little out of the way as we had to drive for everything...only 5 miles or so. The septic system is close by but the summer winds were keeping the smell away in the opposite direction. Someone needs... More

I arrived for 2 nights. I travel all over Atlantic Canada for business, and I have never seen a place like this! I arrived late, and couldn't find the reception, it was so dark and the signs were hard to see. When I checked in iwas told Mr Kim had upgraded my room, when I stated I had forgotten to... More

This is no means a five star accomadation....its on par with any other hotel, motel or cottage in the area. The difference is that the owner seems to be really on top of customer service. We bought a family pkg (room, attractions and even a pinic lunch) and he was continually making sure everthing was t oour satisfaction. I really... More

This is a great difference from the usual hotel. It is very clean and there were no sign of any bugs! It is close to everything in Cavendish and looks out on rolling countrysides! Staff are very accomodating and I would definitely come back!

I am reading the reviews on here about the hotel and my primary question is -- Why hasn't anyone mentionned the bug infestation? I never write reviews on sites like these but now I see how important it is to share experiences like mine. I have learned by my mistake and will be reading reviews before booking a weekend getaway... More

When booking, I was concerned seeing a lot of bad review of this place. I can understand that if the hotel advertises itself as a resort and charges accordingly, then the bad review is no surprise. On the other hand, when I was booking, this was the most reasonably priced hotel in Cavendish. And I am not disappointed. Mayfield is... More

This place is for people who are tired of the Holiday Inns and the textbook motor hotel experience. It is quaint, although the facility is large, and the rooms remind you of staying at a grandparent's or great uncle's old farm house. Conveniently located by Green Gables, Cavendish beaches and numerous other activities, this hotel offers something different and fun... More

When one is spending close to $800 for a long weekend getaway, one expects pretty good accomodations. The best that I can say about the Clarion Collection Gateway Cavendish was that it was okay. No major issues or problems, but not great value for the price. The beds and furniture have seen better days and while adequate, one expects more... More

We had planned a trip to PEI for several years because of our love of the Lucy Maud Montgomery stories of "Anne of Green Gables" The location of the hotel allows you to drive to most of the places associated with the stories. Even though designated by Clarion as a "Gateway Resort" it is an average hotel with additional family... More

We got the romance package, and it was the best holiday I've ever had. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the sights were amazing, and the lobster dinner just topped it all off. We will be going back again next year!!!
