Good points: hot water for bath and shower, bed comfortable, lovely view from deck, great tasting morning coffee. Not so good points: thin towels and face cloths, dated inside and out, very thin walls (can hear everything in adjacent rooms), small toilet area with an even smaller shower, musty smell from old carpet. The owners were friendly and accommodating.

Check out our website & Facebook page. The motel was demolished (Nov 2016) and is being rebuilt this winter with 12 new larger rooms replacing the old 16 rooms (opening June 19, 2017). The efficiency units and Lighthouse Suite are also being refurnished. The morning coffee and the view will remain the same!

The hotel is extremely dated, however our beds were comfortable and that was most important to us. The washroom is tiny (I'm a 5'7 woman and my knees touched the wall when I sat on the toilet and had no elbow room in the shower), but great water pressure from the shower. The cleanliness seemed ok, but I did keep...

Would not recommend this place at all. When we showed up we thought we were signing into "Bates Motel". The tiny cottage was freezing cold, it smelled terrible, was severely outdated, was completely bug infested with cob webs everywhere, and the TV was broken. The list goes on. We were just happy we made it through the night, as a...

I read the reviews, I thought- it sounds cheap and fine.... I tried to book the cottage for my family of 4, there was a glitch in the system and Kyle called me to say he would book 2 adjoining rooms for us for the same cost as the cottage. Perfect. Not. We arrived and they had split up the...

This place is dirty, run down, bug infested, and needs to be shut down. I'm not sure where the poster who spoke of renovations stayed, but this place has not been renovated, ever! My husband woke to find a bug in his pillow. Told the owner, he didn't care. The bathroom is tiny, and old, and dirty. There's a sign...

Upon checkin it was clear it is an older motel due for upgrades, however this detail really isn't a negative just a fact. We stayed in the lighthouse. It is a fun style room that really has seen better days. The carpeted floor cleanliness came into question but I just kept my shoes on. An occasional ant is a non...

The new owners did a lot of work to renovate this place, just about everything! And don't even get me started on the view! And the staff was very friendly and did as much as they could to make our stay that much better! The bonus is that the beach is just a 3 minute walk away! And we came...

This place should be shut down. My boss and I arrived at 7:30pm after searching for a hotel with a decent rate, $85 is decent for this area however its not worth it! The person at front desk immediately locked up the office after we paid for the room and took off. I now understand why; We were sold a...

When we first pulled in we were wondering if we would be leaving the next day. The building was shabby, windows were propped open with boards and the beds were a millions years old, so were the mattresses probably. I wish I had packed a tent because I honestly did not want to stay in the bed. But hey, it...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Lighthouse and Beach Motel has new owners. In our 1st year (2016) we replaced the mattresses & pillows in most rooms and replaced the front deck. This winter we demolished the office and the old 16 rooms and are rebuilding 12 new / larger rooms in the same location. Target opening date is June 19th 2017 and we are on schedule! As well, the two kitchenette - 2 bedroom units and the Lighthouse Suite are all being refurnished. So, basically it will be a brand new Motel in 2017. We are looking forward to seeing our returning guests and new guests this summer!! ... more   less
