We have stayed at this campsite twice before so on our most recent trip to the area we decided to swing past again. During the check in process we were asked if we had our own wood, to which we replied 'yes we do'! We were then told briefly (and incorrectly) about the problems of foreign insect infestation if you...

Dear Ladylaelae, Thank you for swinging by our site and writing such a lengthy review, There is indeed a federal campaign on not transporting firewood (in line with the Vermont buy-it-where-you-burn-it campaign) and this concerns multiple illnesses that can be transmitted (not just foreign insects) - it is very crucial to the park as well as the success of the...

This was the perfect location for 'casual' campers. They have a variety of accommodation options, from plain old campsites to small and large cabins. There is fresh drinking water, bathrooms and showers available at a short distance from all campsites and each site has picnic tables, a fire pit with grill and bench. It's about a 10-20 minute walk from...

This is by far the best campsite I have ever been to. I thought of writing this review today as I urged our friends to check out their website and set aside a date to return. I read all of the reviews before going, and within the first day I was dumbfounded by how anyone could have anything negative to...

I really enjoy Diable Vert, it is not your typical commercial campsite but really nestled in the woods on a beautiful well taken care of natural reserve. We loved the cabin, the hiking trails, the kayaking and that you could bring your dog. The service was very friendly. We will be happy to return!

We have been coming for over two years now. Our favorite site is The Hobbit. It is a wonderful place to relax and kick back. Go kayaking, sit by the pond, hike or trail run. So many activities. The bathrooms are clean and showers are free. Don't forget to say hi to the cows. But beware the fence may zap...

We arrived on a Friday night, setup the tent and enjoyed our weekend! It was that easy. There are fees for a baggage service to bring your equipment to your pod. I highly recommend it. All required services are available: Clean shower area, fire wood and ice. The view from our pod (#8) was just gorgeous. Another major plus is...

This is not your average commercial jam packed camping with all the lots stuck together. It is also more expensive than your typical campings, but totally worth it for me. The lots are private and quiet. We were in 17, which has room for two tents, including one very private under trees and a gorgeous view of surrounding moutains. I...

As you can probably see from the pictures on the website the scenery is beautiful. The cabin we rented, The Dream Catcher, was as described except for one major detail...you must empty the mouse traps a few times a night. If we had known this it might not have been so bad but not knowing there were mouse traps, and...

Hello Bart S, thank you for taking the time to write a review. Sorry, about the mouse trap. We do have a professional service that comes every two weeks to setcapture stations at the outside of the cabins and we verify the traps between all visits. Also we are very happy to empty traps every day for you should the...

We were very excited for our weekend at the Diable Vert. We got there on Thursday night, where we were told that we had to pay 10$ for having our luggage taken to our Pod (they don't allow you to take your car near your campsite) . Considering that it is a 15 minute walk on a very steep and...

Sitting with my back to a warm campfire and looking out over the alpine meadow, I couldn't tell where the fireflies left off and the stars began. This sense of wonder was often with me during our 2 day stay, even when it was rainy. Our dog woke up in the Pod with us on the second morning, gave us...

Thank you so much for taking the time to review us. Firefly time is a wonderful time of year to be here, however the stars are great all year round. Thank you so much for "getting it" ... as for the 5 am barking, I am sure your dog was just trying to add a little bark to the birds...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Au Diable Vert is an unusual concept in the world of wilderness outfitters, agrotourism and recreotourism, but a concept that proves more and more popular and relevant each year. Instead of just a fishing rod or gun, our guests have the chance to appreciate nature and the spectacular view of the Appalachian and Green mountains, with binoculars, camera, hiking poles, a kite or the hand of a loved one. Facilitating the Quebec wilderness experience, no matter the season, is what we strive to do better and better each year. A compelling and unique choice of activities, range from exploring our mountain top site in the mountains, to splashing, paddling and fishing in the valley, to pedalling through the treetops on the unique-in-Canada VeloVolant canopy cycle. ... more   less

“I always pick a cabin that is further away from the reception desk to get away from the noise of arriving and leaving guests as well as children. I usually pick a cabin towards the top of the hill to get better sunlight and a better view.”
