We wanted to try a resort on the Sea of Cortez. We were told not to expect the most updated resort and they were right. The rooms were clean and the food was amazing. They had guest Chefs the first night we were there and Taco night a few days later. The food presentation at every meal was wonderful. We even were able to participate in a Guacamole preparation prior to Chefs night. What fun that was. You are given an arm band when you arrive to show that you are staying at that resort. We saw many (!) locals coming in to the resort to use the pool and hot springs pool. I commented on that when we left. It seems that this is a problem they are trying to fix. One thing to note..NO hairdryers so I didn't look my best flying out. Most resorts have them. Also, everything is downhill so when you leave you are going uphill which may be difficult for those with mobility issues.

An amazing resort to stay at. Not some packed fancy over priced resort. Hortencia and staff were absolutely amazing. The food was the best I’ve had in Mexico. Especially the dinner that was always the fresh caught fish of the day. If you’re expecting some five star resort but can’t afford it, then don’t stay here only to leave a bad review. The resort is in an isolated location that is near a very awesome little city. If you want to get away to somewhere amazing with a rustic charm and fantastic staff, I highly recommend this place.

We stayed here for 2 nights the room was run down and dirty, missing light bulbs, broken door handles, missing and broken tiles in the bathroom. The bed frame was missing some of its frame and the mattress was stained. The bathroom had hair on the shower wall when we checked in, we didn’t say anything since it was very late and we were tired. The grounds were well let though.

Yes! We had a great vacation in Los Barriles, BCS México. Buena Vista Resort is a little rustic but offered great food, fabulous location, great staff, unbelievable massages, very laid back style and exceptional value.

The rooms are pretty horrible. The ceiling started to leak onto the bed during a rain shower one night. In serious need of renovations. On the plus side, the staff is very nice and the food is very good at the on site restaurant.

BV Oceanfront + Hot Springs Resort was a wonderful little getaway spot. My husband and I were looking for a short, inexpensive Mexico stay for a 3-night jaunt, and this lil’ gem was absolutely perfect. The ride from the airport is about 50mins, and we opted for the resort pick-up ($220 roundtrip for 2ppl). It was a very easy option and the driver was delightful, sharply dressed and very courteous — a great first impression of the resort! Check-in was easy, and again, delightful staff. Helpful and able to answer all our questions in impressive English (we know little-to-no Spanish). The grounds are beautiful, with the greenery as the focal point. The plants, trees and flowers are so dense and charmingly well-kept. It was a treat to walk about the property and see all the different, well-groomed foliage. So charming! The pool and hot-spring/tub area was clean and pleasant. The restaurant was beautiful — wonderful murals around the inside (again, so clean), and the outside wrap around area was cutely lit with patio twinkle lights. White table cloths gave it a fancier feel at night, but most guests still maintained a casual, beachy attire. We stayed in a Standard King Room. And though the resort is “tired” and old, our room was immaculate. So clean and obviously prepped with care. For only 3 nights, we weren’t picky about where we spent so little time — that being said, the bed was pretty “tired” and probably my only complaint of our entire stay. Other than that, everything functioned, hot water when needed and CLEAN. Excellent housekeeping service as well, so quick and helpful if we needed extra towels. The beach is wide and long. Lots of room for walks, and many side-by-sides going by throughout the day with tourists on adventures. VERY quiet when we were there. The hot springs were no joke — though the ocean water was cool, but if you found a pocket, the sand was super hot just below the surface, making the water feel warm. A cool phenomenon to experience. Clean waters and sand. Not too many beach chair options, but the resort wasn’t busy when we were there, so we didn’t have an issue getting loungers. (1 beach towel per person provided a day, very eco friendly.) The staff were absolutely excellent. Kind, helpful, quick and excellent at what they do. From groundskeeping, bar staff, wait staff, spa, reception, housekeeping — everyone. So impressive, all around. Exceeded expectations and really made you feel at home and taken care of. We both got 1.5hr massages from Eva. She is marvelous — we both asked for deep tissue, and it was! A full 1.5hr, too. she was very professional and the room where the massages are is quiet and private. Very reasonable rate for being on-site, too. Thank you, Eva for your expertise! Probably the top highlight for us was the food. We had heard it was good, but wow. Our experience is the food in Mexico is typically high-volume, touristy and bland. But, not so here. Not only was the presentation always so surprising and luxurious, but it was DELICIOUS. We ordered a variety of items (pastas, tacos, guac, salads, tortilla soup (amazing), ribs, burgers, etc.) and everything was amazing. Very, very reasonably priced. Truly impressed and blown away. Don’t miss the “grill night”, and though we missed it by a day, we heard the “taco Tuesday” is something special, and I have no doubt! The chefs are truly amazing at their craft at BV Oceanfront + Hot Springs Resort. Overall, this quiet, little slice outside of Cabo was a delight. We would go back and perhaps rent a car or side-by-side to experience a little more around the resort; but, for only a couple of days lounging and beach walks was just the relaxing getaway needed.

This resort is not new or fancy or located in the center of town, what it is is a place to rest your head, in very clean spacious rooms, and be spoiled by the people who work there. It's a place to get the best food we have tasted in a very long time, plenty of it and reasonably priced. My husband and I planned to stay for 2 days, but extended it to 3 because we hated to leave. Do yourself a favor and check this place out, you will not be disappointed. We thank the Resort for their generosity in acknowledging our anniversary and making it one of the best we have had. Irene and Harry.

My husband Scott and I were introduced to the Buena Vista Resort by our friend Autumn, as she had done some research on places we could have a ring ceremony in the Baja. I chose the Buena Vista Resort because it had everything I was looking for. Our event coordinator Susette arrange for us to have, A Photographer, A Musician (Guitarist), a private Dinner on the terrace overlooking the ocean (Excellent Food), Cake and even hair appointment with a local Hair Salon to get our hair done. Oh and last but not least Flowers, she supplied my bouquet, the boutonniere and the flowers displayed on the beach for the ceremony. It was fantastic! Was a beautiful sunset and the resort was full of colorful flowers all around. We had a lot of fun with the photographer who took us all around the resort for photos. Even the Dock that was high in the air it was a great photo. The music was played while we said our vows and throughout dinner and a little after. He had a great sound and voice. We had the most wonderful time and many thanks to Susette who really made our day special and a day we will remember for always. Thanks, Scott & Renee

Nice, fishing resort feel. EXCELLENT 7 course fresh fish dinner made and served on the beach with live music and fancy table settings. One of the highlights of the trip and I went there to fish! The pool is full of mineral hot springs so you come out real loose and relaxed after a day of fishing. We went in July 2019 and the place was mostly empty as we were told the snow birds fill it up in the winter months. This is our favorite place to go in Baja and we have gone to 5 different resorts/trips. Super nice customer service and awesome beach with swimming and fishing available.
