Dunas Motel is a dump. My husband and I have travelled around the world and we often stay in "no frills accommodation:, but we don't like smelly dirty motels. This place was hideously bad. We had booked here over the phone a few days before driving to Guerrero Negro. We lived in Rosarito Mexico, and although my Spanish was not...

We like inexpensive, basic places but this is depressingly bad. I'm impressed with how everyone else is OK with it, but I think they're rationalizing a bad choice. Extremely worn, dirty linens that make you wonder what might be crawling in them. We took one look and fled. Buyer beware!

Guerrero Negro can be chilly in the winter. Best to bring thermal underwear or sweats and wear them to bed, even in the most expensive hotel in the area. The Dunas is next door to La Ballena, the largest supermarket in town. The supermarket has a cafeteria. The entrance to the hotel courtyard passes right next to the office, and...

We went to Guerrero Negro to see the Gray Whales. This motel is close to Mario's tours ( a huge plus). The price was right but with that price, no fills. A place to put your head on a pillow for sleep. We had bathrooms in our rooms (which in Mexico is a plus) but the bathrooms had paint peeling...

We had no idea what the motel would be like before coming, there were no reviews online and nothing in the travel guides. However, the people who booked our whale watching trip recommended it as it was only 200 pesos for a room with a queen and a private bathroom. Anyway, we were happily surprised, it surpassed our expectations for...

“Main boulevard is not noisy at night. Low numbered rooms are closest to Wi-Fi if it ever gets back in service. If you need bedside AC power bring a 5 meter lamp extension cord.”
