I spent 11 days at Casa Werma in March 2014, and just remembered I hadn't posted a review. I was in heaven the entire time. The food was far beyond my expectations: a local gourmet chef and his wife fed us royally with Mexican fare you would definitely not find in US Mexican restaurants. The accommodations in the small casita,... More

Casa Werma is a piece of paradise in the middle of Patzcuaro. Not only the place was beautiful, the grounds were amazing, but the hosts were amazing. They made us feel at home, helped us in any way they could going out of their way to help us find whatever we were looking for. The food was amazing! They have... More

This place is just fantastic. While its primary purpose is to serve as a Buddhist retreat, they also run a great B&B. It sits in a five acre, walled garden that is private, enchanting, and magical. It was tempting to want to stay inside the garden and never leave. The hosts are personable, knowledgable, and downright fun to hang out... More

Casa Werma is close to everything but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. The house is furnished with exquisite Mexican furniture and crafts. Lighting a fire in the living room is a great place to wind down after a busy day of touring. The gardens delight the eye with many flowers and exotic trees. The patio fountain gurgles,... More

Casa Werma is a safe, healthy, magical, contemplative environment. It sits on a spacious estate of well cared for flowers, lawns and trees. I loved just sitting and listening to the birds. It is clear that Casa Werma is well managed by a devoted staff.

Casa Werma is a peaceful oasis tucked inside a walled 5 acre property smack near the center of Patzcuaro and a 5 minute walk to its bustling marketplace. Two full time gardeners tend lovingly to its soft, lush and tropical grounds that have the effect of gently caressing the visitor everywhere one steps. Sunlight and tranquility fuse and infuse this... More

I couldn't believe it when I saw the travel warning at the top of the page for Casa Werma, Patzcuara, Mexico. Casa Werma is a wonderfully beautiful and serene B&B nestled in a 5 acre garden in Patzcuaro. In January there were agapanthus, daylilies, bouganvillias, geraniums, calla lilies, birds of paradise in bloom as well as avocados, loquats and oranges... More

We stayed at Casa Werma for 10 days. The casita, that we stayed in, is in a large and beautiful walled garden just a block from the city market. It was peaceful, quiet, and comfortable and at the same time well situated to explore Patzcuaro. The new directors were just learning the ropes but provided us with good and friendly... More

We have been going to Patzcuaro for many years and have stayed in three other B&B's. All of them have been wonderful, but the specialness of CW is that it is off the beaten path, away from the tourist trade. It gives one a "real feel" of Mexico just to walk to and from the two main plazas. The grounds... More

We absolutely loved our stop-off at Casa Werma on our way to the coast from Mexico City, just made us wish it was longer than a one day layover! Casa Werma is an immaculately kept rustic property in a huge expanse of gardens and trees, which as anyone who lives in Mexico knows, is a rarity here! It is a... More
