Amazing resort on 250 acres of jungle and located on the beach. 12 rooms total. Service is superb. The food was fresh and tasty. This would be a great choice for celebrating a special occasion-honeymoon, anniversary etc

We originally planned to go to Four Seasons or St. Regis in Punta Mita but they had private events. Our excellent travel agent, Martha Zambrano from Lozano Travel in Monterrey, recommended Imanta. It is exclusive and very private. The rooms are beautiful (get ocean views). The

We just returned from 5 amazing days at Imanta. We could not have asked for anything more. The service is top-notch (special thanks to Ramon and Oscar for all the personalized care!). Every person on the resort excelled at customer service. There are no room numbers or tabs to

Imanta Resort is the most architecturally stunning and wondrous natural setting in Mexico. It’s like a Mayan temple has risen from the forest to meet the ocean. The rolling pipeline surf provides a relaxing white noise as the sea comes ashore. I’ve been to Imanta three times

If your expectations are the Four Seasons or St Regis, do not go to Imanta. We took a risk and tried something new (on Amex’s recommendation which is another beef) only to check out early and return to the Four Seasons..and what a relief. It’s sort of like staying in a Mayan

The water temperature is nice but the ocean can be rough and there are rip tides. I got caught in one and was screaming and flailing with my arms for help. No one came to my assistantance. My husband, who was body surfing the bigger waves, finally noticed I was in distress and came to my assistance.

It could be interesting if you are up for the adventure but there are pitfalls too. On the positive side, the beach is fantastic for kids, food is great, rooms are spacious and most have a plunge pool so vacation with a toddler could be nice depending on how you like to vacation. I am not sure if they have high chairs or cribs (you'd have to ask them) and the resort in general is quite quiet - so if your two year old is on the quiet side - that's great - but if you have the sort of two year old that wakes up in the night, cries, is noisy - it might be tough for you and your neighbors. Also, if you do have a plunge pool - of course there is the safety concern - you will have to keep track of your two year old. The property is a bit of a trek for a two year old up and down from the beach to the breakfast and dinner spot - so there might be a lot of carrying for you. If you are looking for a big family pool, kids club, full hotel kid amenities - the Four Seasons is a better choice. But if you are the type of traveler that likes to be off the beaten path, be surrounded by natural beauty, enjoy time relaxing in quietude - then Imanta is the better choice.

We did not stay there, had a day pass with dinner etc., It is a luxury hotel so they will have everything you need but from the way the rooms are situated with complete privacy all you would need to do is open the slider doors. We actually live in the village of Punta de Mita and never use A/C as there is enough breeze from the ocean and no bugs in the winter
