We spent the day at Almaplena Eco Resort and Beach Club last week and it was absolutely paradise 😎. Everything on their website was spot on. The staff were very friendly and took great care of us for the day. I would definitely do this private excursion again.

We stayed at Almaplena for the day while visiting Costa Maya on a cruiseship, a very good and tranquil alternative to the touristic port area built up t accommodate the cruiseships. The hotel is small and charming, on a secluded part of the beach, with beautiful surroundings. The lunch we got served was delicious, and the staff very friendly and...

This hotel is in a secluded beautiful beach. It is a small well maintained property. Do not expect any luxury accomodations. The place is rustic but that is the whole point of booking this property. Be prepared to be off the grid as WIFI is very bad and cellphone coverage worse. The food is terrible so plan to eat at...

My schedule only allowed me to stay one night in this attractively designed quiet place, a five hour shuttle van ride from Cancun. The entire resort with its accommodations, breakfast, empty beach and clean turquoise sea all made me wish for a longer stay, but I had to catch a cruise ship in Mahahual,Quintana Roo the next day.

Great place to get away from everything and reboot. The sea has no strong currents, if you are an ok swimmer you can enjoy a good 30 mts swim to the coral reef just in front of the hotel in shallow waters. Kids can safely play in the beach among the small waves that hit the shore. If you are...

we stayed at almaplena for 2 nights as part of out honeymoon. first thing you need to know- it is NOT close to mahaual city. it's a 30 minute drive, in a bumpy road, that has NO road-lights- so if you are leaving/coming back after dark- expect a very unpleasant experience. no cell-reception on this road also- so make sure...

This is a very nice resort and people take good care of you. The room ( #3 ) is clean and spacious and the bathroom facilities are OK too. The restaurant offers a nice selection of meals. There are two point of criticism though that I need to share. Keep in mind that this has nothing to do with the...

Our group of 25 family decided on this place as our excursion for the day and have to say we couldn't have been happier. Very remote (about 20 min from port), but because the cost includes transportation, it wasn't a hassle. Just walked to the cab line outside the port and said alma plena and all the cabbies knew exactly...

We discovered this amazing resort thanks to Trip Advisor when one of our cruise stops got changed to Costa Maya at the last minute. We couldn't have been more pleased. It was one of the most beautiful and peaceful places we have ever been....soft white sand and blue, clear water with a coral reef you can snorkel at right from...
