Stayed here for 5 nights with a group of 8 ladies. Kim, Dave, and Eduardo were always accommodating and easy to work with. Beautiful views from the room. We loved the decor, and it was also so handy having a restaurant right on premises. There was wifi, kayaks, and bikes available for all guests. The cleaning staff was great, daily...

Dave, Kim and Eduardo are wonderful hosts. The rooms were spacious (one twin bed was rock hard - all others fine). Food quite good. No reason to leave the premises if you didn't want to. Enjoyed bonefishing. Enjoyed snorkeling the coral heads just off shore and a dive arranged by the Hotel. Great birding and butterflies at and just beyond...

These types of out of the way small resorts may not be for everyone but if you are the 'type', Tierra Maya does it the BEST! We went as 2 couples as the boys were having a 'bucket list' fishing trip and had the time of their lives. The owners have access to the best guides in the area and...

We got married on Isla Mujeres and decided to honeymoon in Xcalak. We are divers and the diving is touted as being great and we wanted to explore a new part of mexico. Going from Isla to Xcalak was quite a difference. It took about a day to adjust to being so remote, but once we did it was quite...

My husband and I had been here before about 3 years ago and it was perfect. We returned now, met the owners Kim and Dave, and melted in paradise. The rooms are awesome and there are many places for snorkeling. Everything was perfect.

Our second stay in Xcalak - first at Tierra Maya. Our days consisted of an early breakfast in the restaurant, pick up at the dock for a magical day on the water fishing for bonefish, permit and tarpon, return at 4 to a beer at the bar leading into a wonderful evening watching the sun set sipping one of Eduardo's...

My boyfriend and I have been going to Mexico twice a year for 4 years, for fishing and relaxation. Tiearra Maya provides both of those things, and so much more. The setting, right on the incredibly blue water, in a traditional, small, friendly, fishing village, can't be beat. The hotel it's self, is small, beautiful and clean, but the rooms are...

Just returned from another trip to Tierra Maya in Xcalak. Had an excellent time relaxing in the spacious rooms nestled so close to the beach and dock. Having the kitchen/bar a stones throw away is more than convenient for snacks, lunch, dinner, beer & tequilla. Had my best fishing trip to date fishing with Evaristo and landing 5 permit in...

The owners, Kim and David, are fine folks, and they have a terrific place. Rooms spotless, staff accomidating, free sea kayaks beckon. Can go just a bit off the beach and tie up to the bouy and snorkel. Also have wi-fi if you wanna go this far and connect with the world... We just fell in there for a night,...
