Well worth a visit if you are in the area looking for a decent Sunday Lunch. Generous portions of well cooked food and excellent service, we just chanced upon it and went in, a table was found and we were eating within minutes. A nice atmosphere in a lovely old pub helped to make it a really nice time.

Beer over priced. Dirty room on the first night of stay, stained out of date carpet. On the second night the floor was not hoovered, the empty shampoo contains were left in shower and not replaced. Towels were not changed, this meant getting out of a just about adequate shower I wrapped myself in a cold wet towel. Food was...

Love this pub - stop regularly while out walking for a drink. Dogs are welcome inside (except when they barked too loudly while close to the dining area and we were once asked to move outside - in fairness they were very loud) and staff are friendly and chatty. We always chat to locals and they are always friendly and...

As pointed out on the the pub's website, this is a convenient place for a stopover for people coming from or going to Heathrow. That's how it worked for us: we stayed one night on our way south. The pub is located about 5 kms from Amersham; too far for an evening stroll there. However, that gives the advantage of...

I have stopped here on several occasions. I arrived at the pub as usual and entered the bar which was populated by a selection of what I assume to be local trade, I approached the bar and waited....... Once I had been booked in I was shown to the allocated room and left to my own devices. Having travelled for...

Had lunch here today with friends, our first visit but it won't be our last. Despite there only being one person to both serve behind the bar, take food orders and serve the food, the service was great and all done with friendly chat and a smile. Then there was the food. Which was delicious! I had the duck which...

Stayed here for a weekend while at a family party. Bedrooms small but clean and nice bathroom and shower room. Breakfast provided including cereal and choice of full English (massive) or other choices such as poached or scrambled eggs. Richard was very helpful and they also provided a smaller bed for our son to sleep in. No idea how quiet...

This dog friendly hotel was a good place to stay with a dog, separate side entrance to rooms. Room 1 was a bit on the small side with a corner on suite, but comfortable. Bed was ok. Breakfast was fine. The only downside was that on the last Thursday of every month there is an event on and the restaurant...

This lovely old fashioned pub is in s tiny village outside of Amersham. We unfortunately couldn't sample their food, as we arrived on Sunday afternoon and they are closed Sunday evening. Our stay in one of their 4 rooms was lovely, clean, if a bit outdated room, with very low doorways as my husband will testify to with a lump...

A lovely pub, with good food!! It was rather rammed in there due to a big Christening in the bar area, and staff being maxed... so we had to push our way in to get a drink, and let the staff know we were there, so we could find our table - which thankfully was in a different area. We'll...
