Detailed Reviews
Stayed one night in a Junior Suite. The room was well appointed with a siting room, bedroom & bathroom. All the amenities you would expect, toiletries, coffee/tea making facilities, TV in siting & bedroom. plus iron/ironing board The room was well heated (cold night outside) the shower had both fixed overhead & flexi-hose heads. Overall a very comfortable room with a comfortable bed.
The restaurant had a warm friendly atmosphere, the menu had a good selection, with the food cooked to perfection, as was the breakfast . The staff were welcoming yet efficient. For this quality of hotel the prices are also reasonable. Would recommend.

+1
We took a two night break here, and had a wonderful stay. Our room was across the courtyard, quiet, large, warm and very comfortable, and had high quality accessories, eg Dyson hair drier, Le Creuset cups etc. Rooms at the back of the hotel tend to be quieter.
Angus was very helpful at checkin, and again, along with Janet, when dining. Breakfast was a feast, set us up for the day, to help with Covid arrangements we ordered our breakfast menu the evening before which was fine with us. We had dinner one evening and it was excellent, I had roast pork loin and baked Alaska - the best I’ve ever had when dining out.
I can readily recommend this quality hotel, it is walkable to Waddesdon Manor - a must on your visit.

We have just spent a night here on the ‘winter light’ package and had a lovely stay at a very good price. We stayed in a junior suite that was its own self contained room through the garden. Being winter it was very private and snug. The decoration was well thought out, in line with the style of the building and lots of lovely pictures of Mouton Rothschild labels. The bed was heavenly and the bath lovely with white company toiletries. The restaurant was very pleasant with a well though out and executed menu and the service was friendly and welcoming with just the right mix of informality and politeness. Would recommend this as a lovely place to stay if visiting Waddesdon and the surrounding area.

My first experience of this well established hotel and restaurant in the village of Waddesdon, famed for its connection with Waddesdon manor and held in high regard by most of the village residents.
A dinner service on a Saturday night it was clear the staff were focused on a larger party booked within the orangery.
We were seated in the atrium rather than the main (and much quieter) dining room surrounded by very loud guests enjoying a drink. This was a shame as one of our waitresses (at the end of the meal) said why didn’t we sit you in the dining room, there’s space?
A lovely looking menu my appetite was wetted and I was hungry, drinks order came quickly.
My main I can only describe as an expensive grease ball of nothingness, a very disappointing potato rosti that was dripping in grease with no flavour and poorly cooked accompanied by lovely vegetables and small amount of halloumi… I would not recommend. When I mentioned this to staff they cursory apologised and rushed away, never to be seen again.
My partner though was treated to a sublime mushroom bourguignon.
Dessert for me was delicious, the highlight and only redeeming feature of an overall underwhelming evening and general disappointment for a first time visit.
In conclusion I am dissatisfied with my experience for what was promised to be a delightful intimate birthday celebration, instead we were delivered a noisy bright, tasteless (in my case), accelerated experience and I am not keen to go back. Certainly not worth the money!
I certainly hope for the hotel’s future that this is a one off ‘bad night’.

Response from Adam Parsons, General Manager at Five Arrows Hotel
Responded 1 Feb 2022
Thank you for Paul for taking the time to leave us feedback about your visit last week. I am sorry to hear that you didn't fully enjoy the experience. We had seated you in the snug area as this is what had been booked when you made the booking online, if we had been aware that you didn't wish to seat in this area then we would absolutely have moved you into the main dining area. We did have a busier than usual bar area due to our popularity with the locals and that they were unable to sit in the coach house like most evenings due to the private function we had that evening. The staff were most definitely focused on the dinner service in the hotel, as the private function we had in the coach house was being looked after by a separate team,. We have passed the feedback about the Halloumi dish back to our chef and he has subsequently made some changes to the dish to ensure this is no longer the case. I can assure you that the hotel is in good hands and this is very much reflected in other reviews. We do certainly hope you give us another shot and look forward to welcoming you again.

We stayed in this fantastic hotel for one night to celebrate my birthday. Having arrived and been greeted by the hotel manager Adam, we were shown to our room which was spacious, spotlessly clean and equipped with all of the amenities you'd expect and require. We visited the nearby Light Display at Waddesdon Manor before getting ready for our evening meal.
The three course meal we enjoyed was sensational in every way and the service we received throughout was friendly and attentive. Dinner included a glass of prosecco each and the seasonal cocktail we ordered both made for a great start to the meal. The kitchen catered to my dietary requirements (gluten free and onion allergy) with ease, providing me with alternatives to most menu items. The tofu chocolate mousse in particular was mind-blowingly tasty!
The next morning we were served breakfast (including gluten free bread) by Janet and Adam which was again faultless and delicious.
Thank you to Adam and Janet, and all of the staff at the hotel, that made my birthday visit one I will not forget.

Ordered a trout but instead they brought me salmon .. Clearly the color, texture and cut of the fish is different that is no science but when I asked the waitress she was very arrogant and seemed sure I was mistaken . May I remind this young lady that her work is all about satisfying the customer and that the guest is always right ? Even if I was wrong but I wasn’t you should try to please me and not have some sort of attitude and tell me that it’s definitely a trout because surely people are not stupid . Give me a suggestion take back the plate and value my money instead of sitting behind the bar and gossiping. During these hard days much of a better effort should be made by people working in hospitality otherwise take your attitude and go home .

My wife and I went for Sunday Lunch today. Welcome was lovely and restaurant is beautiful. Service was excellent during ordering and receiving drinks, starters and main courses but then the staff dropped the ball! So much so so I had to ask several times for the table to be cleared. We ordered more wine which took ages to be delivered as did the bill! To my amazement the bill included a 12.5% gratuity. I wanted to take this off the check but my wife didn’t want me to make a fuss. I did it bring to the attention of the waitress that she and her colleagues should learn to check on all tables regularly. Shame because it spoilt an otherwise very nice meal!

We visited for dinner after attending the Waddesdon light display. Everything about our experience was great. The staff were very friendly on arrival, the place itself is lovely and cosy with smart decor and roaring fireplaces. The bar was well stocked and both draught ales were excellent. Everything we ordered from the Amuse Bouche right through to the desserts and coffees was thoughtful and delicious. We are big fans of game and seeing this as a starter option and also a main was refreshing and really appropriate for the area. It was also very very tasty! The staff were experienced and knew what good service is! Prices were very reasonable for the quality of food and I will not hesitate to book in again when we visit Waddesdon in one of the summer months. Bravo 👏 :)

Stayed here for 3 nights for work. Firstly I found I received a warm welcome from the staff , and the customer service was excellent from all staff. The building is very impressive, and the gardens were nice to enjoy a beer in. However the single room is very small, not even 2M wide. If I were to stay longer than 3 nights I would be uncomfortable. However the coffee machine , premium toiletries and water fall shower do make up for the lack of room. I also think it’s worth noting this feels more like a restaurant with rooms as an addition , rather than the hotel as the main focus.

This was the second visit to the hotel. Last time was about 5/6 years ago. We are quite local about 20 miles away but decided to stay for two nights to visit the manor again. We arrived to find the hotel had been decorated since our last visit for the better. We stayed in room 4 with the balcony to the front (which in the summer would be delightful to have drink out there). We had a meal in the hotel for the first night - totally amazing! Could have chosen several options - I went for the fish and my husband the guinea fowl with taster to start followed by starters and basically went through the card finishing with petits fours- truly delicious and highly recommended and compliments to the chefs!! After a half day round the manor the next day we relaxed in our room for an hour (asking for fresh milk to use which was no problem at all and thanks to the waitress in the bar at the time who was friendly and helpful over this). We then had pre dinner drinks in the quiet and relaxed though busy bar. Breakfasts are good and a big thank you as well to the lovely, friendly and conscientious Sally who is the receptionist who welcomed us each day and chatted and was very helpful. Well done Five Arrows we shall be returning soon and hope to have yet another amazing stay!

Ours was a standard double bed. Usually if it's a king size bed it will say so. If it says double bed, then it will be a standard size doible bed.
With regards to Classic rooms with a garden view, request room1 or room 2.
No there is no lift as far as I know
As far as we can remember yes they do......
Hi, I'm so sorry but I am not able to answer your question because I had the car. Emailing the hotel directly with your question would be best.
