Just returned from what should have been a lovely afternoon tea for my mums birthday... It was awful. We were a table of 6, no drinks offered whilst we were waiting for the whole party to arrive. We were given prosecco and then waited 25 mins for the food to arrive... (By then we had all finished our drink. No...

We purchased a 2 night stay through wowcher which included a glass of prosseco upon arrival and breakfast. Have to say this was well worth the money and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The Hotel is quirky and lovely. Rooms are spacious and tea/coffee available. Our room backed onto the brook and it was lovely to hear the water running by....

Visited for afternoon tea with a friend as a Group on gift. Pleasant ambience in a lovely setting. Value for money eye with good food served by attentive staff in a pleasant and professional manner. Tea served as requested (vegetarian) with no reminder necessary which is a rarity. Will definitely be returning.

Not eaten here for many years. Four of us went for dinner. Simply delightful. Such a lovely warm ambiance. Lovely food. Silver service (not seen that for many many years) Young staff fully perfectly trained. These boys and girls aren't simply part-time staff. No shouting. No loud music. If you wish to talk to your friends quietly - try The...

We stayed here having celebrated a birthday party with 82 family and friends. ( If I were reviewing that aspect of the hotel it would be excellent. We stayed in Room 7, which is a little awkward to find, and is supposed to be one of the better rooms. The room has plenty of space and wardrobes. The toilet is...

Have been eating at lunch over several years 4/5 per annum. Today the food was very good but the atmosphere has changed and seems cold compared to the warm welcome we have been used to. Some of the staff were very friendly and helpful but no welcome on entry, slow to take drink and then food order. A couple of...

My husband decided to take me for dinner for my birthday. We booked a table for 7.30pm and arrived at 7.20pm. We sat in the bar waiting and finally were taken to our table at 8.10pm. My husband explained I was celiac and couldn't eat wheat. I asked if the fish cakes were gluten free but the waiter didn't know...

Just got back from a two night deal and it was a very pleasant stay. Good food in the restaurant and the same menu for Groupon guests as the other guests. Meal served in very nice surroundings and attentive wait service. Breakfast cooked to order with a small selection of cereal and fruit. The room was clean and tidy with...

We stayed here for two nights this weekend and had a great stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble, Lee was very helpful, giving advice on places to visit during our stay. We dined there on both nights and couldn't fault the service or quality of the food. We would definitely stay again and recommend...

For a number of years I have driven 15 miles once a month to meet up with a friend for coffee. In September and October we have been served by young members of staff who did not seem to know what they were doing. We usually have tea/coffee and either toast/teacake/crumpets, which use to be advertised outside for £3.50. This...
