i went with a couple of friends to do the Land Rover 4WD experience. Land Rover had booked us in as an apology for screwing up my order. The reception was too bothered about swiping our credit cards for the extras to be welcoming. The room was very nice. Plenty of space and the usual details. The shower was over...

I stayed here with fellow friend for a good friends wedding. The grounds itself are very old school, gothic and well maintained. It's an absolutely fabulous place to get married, very historic and stunning. The room was a good size with a wooden bed which was very comfortable to sleep in. The en suite bathroom in the room was very...

Brilliant stay from start to finish, hotel is amazing the staff are friendly and helpful, we came to the murder mystery evening and stayed over. Stayed for business, some staff were very grumpy, food not great and not varied enough, business facilities terrible. Bedrooms need updating, noisy from corridor, TV didn't work. Wine Cellar bar didn't have corkscrew!! Breakfast was ok, and Land Rover experience was excellent. Check in and out was quick.

Me and my 6 friends had the most fabulous stay there on the 9th & 10th April. The young ladies in the Tranquility spa went out of their way to make sure we had a lovely experience. The spa is small due to the fact its a grade 1 listed building and restricted to what they are allowed to do...

Myself and my husband stayed here for our wedding anniversary, beautiful room, could not fault. Dinner was pleasant but nothing special, breakfast was disappointing, self service not what I expected from such a grand hotel but it was perfectly adequate. I also tried to book a spa treatment several times, could not get through and left a number of messages,...

Just being curious and fancied a bite. So after managing to get a table (really advise pre booking) we sat down and seemed to wait ages. Finally, our shared plough mans platter arrived. What a super meal. Definitely not light bite but a really satisfying and tasty meal. The variety of taste was excellent and the scotch egg was freshly...

We couldn't fault anything about our overnight stay. Beautiful fairytale castle in the middle of a forest. Gorgeous room which was right at the top of the castle via a stone spiral staircase. Food in the restaurant was gorgeous as was breakfast the next day. Staff all very friendly and helpful.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to Peckforton Castle - An enchanting Hotel in the heart of Cheshire. Rising majestically above the Cheshire landscape, the castle is both enigmatic and enchanting. Originally the home of Lord Tollemache and built in the early 19th Century, this Grade I listed building is the only intact medieval style Castle in the country. Over the years the castle has been the location for numerous movies including Robin Hood and Dr Who. Now owned by the Naylor family, the stunning exterior has been complemented by a loving and considered restoration programme resulting in a magnificent hotel and venue offering contemporary luxury and impeccable service. Services include 48 stunning individual guest rooms, conference, events, and wedding facilities for up to 180. Tranquility beauty, on site Falconry and team activities all adding up to a rather magical experience. Dining at the Castle truly is a special occasion, welcoming the public as well as hotel guests. The 1851 Restaurant offers a dining experience fit for royalty. Holder of 3 AA Rosettes and a Taste Cheshire Award. Alternatively the more informal and cosmopolitan 2010 Brasserie, located in the former scullery of the castle, features many of the amazing features of the original scullery including two cast iron cooking ranges dating back to the 1840's. Peckforton Castle's enchanting medieval style beauty and stunning location make it a truly impressive and desirable venue for weddings, christenings, birthday parties, or just about anything that's worth celebrating. Everything plays a part; the fabulous setting, stunning location, the attentive service and smiling faces, the bespoke menus and decorations. A magnificent venue for conferencing and meetings. Within the medieval walls, old and new combine seamlessly to offer state of the art multi media and conference facilities. Captivating on arrival, Peckforton Castle's unspoilt, natural beauty will stimulate and motivate, delight the eye, inspire the mind, tantalise the taste buds and leave you enchanted. ... more   less
