This was a last minute booking when we were let down by another hotel so we were aware that we had the last (and so also potentially worst) room and staff were apologetic that they were unable to offer us an upgrade. The room was absolutely fine, clean warm and comfortable with plenty of hot water. We booked (on the...

My wife travelled up to Cumbria on Wednesday and I joined her Saturday. She booked the Ennerdaleas it was local and looked nice. What a fantastic place, the staff were so friendly, they welcomed us as if we were staying in their home. The hotel was clean and well presented and very opulent. We decided to eat in the restaurant...

For the first time at fifty something we decided to go away for Christmas. Having done plenty of research The Ennerdale was booked. It acheived all we wanted, the food was good and plentiful if occasionally a little on the bland side for my taste, but my wife felt it was perfect. The staff were very friendly and attentive and...

Had a great deal from wowcher as a treat for my husband's birthday. The hotel is a listed beautiful building, so much character, exactly what we expected. Obviously it needs a few repairs and tweaks 2 maintenance but it was clean. The staff were so friendly and made our stay even more enjoyable, they couldn't do enough for us. Food...

Absolutely amazing from start to finish! Before we even arrived they had upgraded us due to it being my partners birthday. Once we arrived we were greeted by the friendliest staff who were not only helpful and friendly but welcoming and added their own personal touch. We didn't want to go for breakfast in the morning so we got it...

My partner, our dog and myself have just returned home after a 2 night stay. On check-in unfortunately there was a slight issue in that there wasn't a room reserved for us - although I had done a week before via phone to one of the hotel receptionists. However this was instantly rectified by the lovely lady on check-in, with...

I was given this hotel by my employer. No choice, the travel company sorted it out and it was close to site. Fairly quick taxi from Whitehaven with some lovely views of sea. Getting to Whitehaven had been a problem. Trains delayed to Carlisle meant a late train to Whitehaven. Next some idiot had a fight on the train coming...

Where to start!! This was a Xmas treat for ourselves plus JR terriers. We had difficulty finding this hotel, poorly signposted and very poorly lit. The car parking area is pitch black and not clearly marked. We unloaded using a torch. Check in was ok, however, we requested on booking a quiet, end room, a twin. We were given room...
