Stayed for an overnight, this was our second visit. Room was fine the bed was comfy. The shower wasn't great I couldn't regulate the temperature, it was either roasting or freezing. This is more the location sometimes it's like that apparently, anyway you can always have a bath. We had our evening meal fish pie and steak & ale, both...

We recently spent a week in Cartmel. This was our evening destination on the first night. This is more than an ordinary pub with food it more like a restaurant with good beer. The staff were very welcoming and they allow dogs in the bar (which was great for us). The menu suited all tastes from vegetarians through to full...

Had lunch with 5 friends. Excellent! I had fish pie which was freshly made and full of fish and tasty cheese topping. Finest fish pie I've ever had. Chips and vegetables were excellent too. Definitely will return!

We stayed at the Cavendish Arms for two nights to celebrate my wife's birthday. It was our second stay we have had there. This time our room was above the Perfect English in centre of the village square. We were impressed by the standard of the room and the ensuite. It was well appointed and very clean. We dined the...

Those words are all you need to know about the Cavendish. It's packed with lean, rich, meaty cubes of Melt-in-the-mouth Steak, a savoury gravy and buttery pastry. What more do you need after a morning travelling the sights of the lower lakes? Oh yes, the refreshing Hendricks cucumber gin & tonic - expertly mixed.

Stayed for 2 nights, bit disappointed to find the other couple we with, were in a completely different building, no mention of this when booking, lots of character in the building, lots of creeks and gaps which made it quite noisy in the mornings, full bar and nice but sparse breakfast, think it's a little overpriced for B&B, lovely quiet...

came back from a two night stay at the Cavendish. This was our second trip back as we loved the first one so much. We stayed in the rooms above the shop on the square and they are gorgeous, comfortable, luxurious and have great views over the square. The pub itself is relaxing and offers a great selection of gin!...

After doing a little research we decided to eat out at The Cavendish whilst staying near Cartmel for a short break. It had positive reviews and had been recommended to us by a number of people therefore we had good expectations of the standard of food. It was a busy evening and having not booked we were fortunate enough to...

Left it late to book, but Richard was very helpful and managed to fit us in. Great pub and a nice atmosphere,Richard is hands on and doesn't mind spending time with his guests.Great selection of beers and the gin shelf was overloaded. Food was really tasty, hot and filling. Always good to go back and visit when we go to The Lakes
