Me and my partner stayed here, It was completely unplanned and we didn't intend to stay but when we arrived after a cold travel to the lakes we knew we wanted to stay here overnight. We had our evening meal here which was faultless, the staff there are so friendly and welcoming. We have been back twice since first stumbling...

We stayed as a family using the Inn as a base to visit other relatives in Upper Eskdale. The food was great serving Traditional Cumbrian Pub Grub including Cumberland Sausage, which is a must. The selection of local real ales is brilliant offering something for everyone. The room was comfortable and spacious. Highly recommended for families as easy access to...

After a good walk on the fells, what better than to walk another 80 paces from your holiday accommodation to good ales and good food. Called in on a number of occasions for a beer (Ruby Witch and the Oatmeal stout, excellent for me whilst my wife enjoyed the Flying Elephant). Twice had our evening meal in the George. Excellent...

After a scenic and somewhat challenging drive over Hardknott Pass, we stopped at the King George IV Inn. Luckily they serve lunch between 12:00 - 17:00 (a lot of places seem to stop serving at 15:00 until their evening menu). My wife had the home-made cheesy garlic bread, which was only £3.49, and I had the hot roast beef with...

We went for a family meal, ordered at the bar and the bill was around £75 including drinks, the bar lady asked if "she could take a credit card" to which I agreed to set up a tab. She took my card away and did't return with it. I asked and she informed me she had " put it in...

Popped in after a day walking, had a cold pint of copper dragon ale which was perfect. Pub was dog friendly, has parking and staff were welcoming. There is seating outside and I noticed the menu had vegetarian choices though we didn't eat there on this occasion

Visited King George IV Inn for drinks and for food while on holiday, staying in Eskdale Green. Very nice good quality food (lasagne, quiche, burger etc.) and drink and cider. The pub has a friendly atmosphere with a combination of locals from the Lake District and tourist families.

Visited while on holiday. Nice pub with a lovely old feel to it. Loads of old memorabilia and no loud unwanted music. Barman was happy and relaxed when serving us. Food was scrumptious with good sizes portions. Dogs welcomed.

We had dinner in the restaurant and the service was first class. The food was brilliant and I would recommend you book as it gets very busy. The local beer was stunning. The desserts we had were very special . I highly recommend the Pana Cotta.

A family group of eight of us visited earlier this week. All meals were delicious, huge (which mattered as we were very hungry campers) and swiftly cooked. Staff were extremely helpful & friendly, our group appreciated Wifi connection. Only disappointment was that the bouncy castle which our children had been eyeing up earlier that day was laying airless on the...
