Stayed here whilst walking on the coast. Exceeded my expectations. Lovely room with a huge bed and a big bathroom with a roll top bath . Really friendly service and excellent well priced food. Nice to have a lounge to relax in too.

We fancied a last minute weekend away as the weather forecast looked glorious and found this hotel on the internet. We have never stayed here nor have we stayed in this part of the lakes, we normally stay in Bowness but fancied a change. What a lovely surprise it was ! When we arrived we were greeted with a very...

From start to finish we were made to feel welcome and nothing seemed too much trouble. Lovely rooms, we were even given a tour around the property. We've just come back from a weekend away at the Westlakes and would thoroughly recommend it. The rooms are well-appointed and have all the facilities you'd expect, the location is excellent with great views and easy access, and the hotel itself is a nice, characterful place but the crowning glory is the staff who couldn't have been more helpful. We...

I went for the restaurant only. Yes, it's not the cheapest place, but it was worth every penny. The food and the service was faultless, and they'd obviously trained the young staff very well indeed. Not false, but felt genuinely welcoming. The place itself is delightful, with pleasing decor. Would definitely return.

This was my wife's first holiday in the Lake District so we wanted something special. We weren't disappointed. The house is beautiful, the location superb - between the mountains and the sea - and the owners are one of the warmest couples I have ever met. There is plenty of parking in the hotel grounds. The room was big and...

I have stayed in this hotel for at least a couple of nights a week for the last 6 months. It is a really friendly place, lovely people, lovely food, in a beautiful part of the country. The rooms are spacious and well presented, parking is plentiful, and the local village of Gosforth is a typical picturesque lake district village
