Initial impression of this site was superb, location is stunning but staying in a tent we had to use the on site facilities, these were old and run down, toilets and toilet doors were broken and nothing was especially clean. Disappointing considering the cost of camping here.

We spent 2 nights here. The Inn is a couple of miles below the Kirkstone Pass. We received a very warm welcome and throughout our stay the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, well-equipped and warm. Breakfast and evening meals were provided in the dining room/bar, with a fire and fantastic views over the mountains, which...

An enjoyable stay, a clean well presented room, very friendly helpful knowledgeable staff and great food, great to be sat next to a log burner with a glass of wine after a long day walking. Will definitely return.

For evening meal there is a menu with traditional fayre and also a small specials board. Both of us had the duck and it was served with a...

Had a couple of nights stay whilst doing some hiking round Ullswater. Food was very good - staff friendly and the inn cosy and ideal for a little lake visit. Plenty of good hiking nearby . Breakfast ideal to get you going for the day

Attended on 18th to the 19th September as a group of lads initially intending to do some walking in the locality. Due to the weather decided to remain at the site and drink beer and eat food, eventually remaining in the on site pub from 12-9pm having lunch and dinner on site. My friends and I attended early on the...

Can't fault the place, setting amazing, loads of walks nearby, room was spotless and comfortable. Staff friendly and knowledgeable, food good quality and great choice from pub grub menu. Special offer £59 for one night stay with tea and cake, 2 course meal and full English breakfast with fruit and juices per couple, absolute bargain! Will definitely return thanks
