Stayed for a couple of days for a friend's wedding nearby and was not disappointed. It is a lovely guest house with very friendly and accommodating hosts and in a great location for walks straight from the doorstep. The only thing I could possibly fault is that the tea cups in the bedroom were a little on the small side...

Found this B & B by chance and what a great find. Location in Troutbeck has splendid views and is very peaceful. The accommodation is second to none and our room had dual aspect. The breakfast menu is one of the best we have experienced and the fruit was wonderful. It is the little touches like tea and biscuits on...

A warm welcome from Les, then Tea and Biscuits on the terrace with spectacular views over the valley after a long journey settled us in nicely. The stunning views from our room ( Kentmere) even on a damp day !! Superb cooked breakfast in a relaxed atmosphere, do try the fresh fruit and yoghurt choices. A really good place to...

Visited last year and decided to re-visit as we enjoyed it so much. Accomodation was still first class and not crowded as only 3 rooms, plus a lovely breakfast. Made to feel welcome. Good spot to visit surrounding areas

Fantastic B&B in a brilliant location. Our room was really nice with a great en suite bathroom. Breakfast was lovely and there are great vegetarian options. The owners are really friendly and helpful, even lending us walking poles! I've already recommended this B&B to friends and family.

We stayed at High Fold in March 2017 - we arrived on a dark rainy night and owner, Les, immediately made us welcome with tea and biscuits. Our room was huge - we stayed in "Applethwaite" which has stunning views over Troutbeck looking toward the village church. The bed was really comfortable and morning breakfasts were lovely too. I cannot...

The drive up to Troutbeck allows you to leave the world behind and enter into the magic of northern England. I suggest you take the lovely 3 mile walk around the village after your delicious breakfast to acquaint yourself with the surroundings, and in the evening, take the walk down the road to The Mortal Man pub so you don't...

Last here 13 years ago under previous owner (we think!). Was good then. Now even better than I remember it! We stayed Fri and Sat nights in the largest of the 3 rooms: Applethwaite. Les and Susan have remodelled the rooms a bit, kept the decor fresh, serve an outstanding breakfast and paid attention to all the little touches you...

High Fold Guest House is just a couple of miles outside of Bowness on Windermere and three miles from Ambleside meaning it is ideally situated to explore the Lakes. Upon our arrival Les our host, welcomed us most warmly and carried our bags up to our top floor room for the evening. The room was spacious with a super king...
