We arrived on time for our booked table but were told another party who were an hour late would take precedence. Ok not a big deal but a little inconvenient. By the time our meal came it was an hour after we came in. But my main grouse is about the price of the food. This is pub grub however...

Called in after we passed by in the car. It was a red hot day. We sat outside under a parasol, very pleasant. Had a nice quiet drink and something to eat. Choice of food was excellent and so was the taste.

We booked two nights here for a brief honeymoon and selected it for its 4* status with it being a special occasion. However, this place is at best 2*. We had Room 5 which was the attic - so cramped you couldn't walk down either side of the bed and it had two velux windows with no blinds. The toilet...

What a great stop! We were soaked to the skin on arrival at this lovely country Inn. We were welcomed and shown to our large, attractive room. Great en suite bathroom. We were able to dry our clothes and even our boots. Showered, changed and warm, we had a great meal with a couple of pints of fine ale, and...

Stopped in for a drink whilst waiting for our Chinese! Dimly lit as it was evening, wish we'd had chance to eat here as the restaurant area looked really romantic and cosy. Nice choice of beers which weren't too badly priced. Would like to return next time we're in the area.

I was also one of the party of friends who visited the pub for Sunday lunch. I would firstly agree with all that Saltaire Sam says. I but would also like to add how beautiful the outside hanging baskets and planters on the window sills look. I mentioned to a gentleman standing near the bar who from what he said...

Accommodation varies from room to room, some are very good. Where this pub wins is on the food. Varied and interesting menu without being over "cheffy". If you can cope with the rather loud and totally dismissive toffs from sedburgh school... It was busy and as I pushed through to get to the bar ( I'm a 5' female and...

10 of us went for Sunday lunch as part of a weekend birthday celebration in the Yorkshire Dales. The staff are so friendly and accommodating, we were made to feel very welcome and our lunch lasted 3 hours ! People have commented on here about the prices of the food on the menu. The prices in my opinion reflect the...

We had the best room and managed to negotiate it down to £120 from £160. The room was great - stylish and clean (however the standing lamp didn't work). The guests information book had some pages of information missing and was also riddled with grammatical errors, to the extent of using are not our. The breakfast was great, I really...
