Janet and Steve set the bar high , for the beginning of our C2C walk . Nothing, I repeat nothing is needed here. A welcome in the garden with Janet's scones , Steve takes your bags. All the info, guest essentials, they are here. Janet and Steve don't just give you a key and see you at checkout, they are... More

Very welcoming, great attention to detail. We had the downstairs room which was more a suite than just a bedroom. Definitely worth staying here as the start point if you're thinking of doing the coast to coast walk

Lovely stay. Great welcome with tea and scones. Comfortable room and flexibility over breakfast timing. Genuinely friendly hosts who did everything to make stay comfortable. Excellent range of breakfast options. Good position for start of C 2 C.

First class welcome with tea and scones, large room and bathroom, good breakfast and company. Can't imagine a better start to a long distance walk. Highly recommend to anyone staying in St Bees planning to walk or just enjoy the locality.

The home is beautiful!!! Steve and Janet have outdone themselves! They really make you comfortable in their home. I so enjoyed their company, especially how they met on the C2C! The French press coffee and the packed lunch were amazing!!!! I had a huge bedroom and bath with so much charm, I could have stay longer just to enjoy it... More

This B & B was our first accommodation on our hike of the Coast to Coast path and it set a very high, nearly impossible to beat, standard, for the next 7 accommodations that followed during our 9-day hike. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by Janet who gave us a helpful orientation to St. Bee's. A nice lounge is... More

If every B&B and hostel was run like Abbey Farm House there wouldn't be a single hill left between St Bees and Robin Hoods Bay--they'd be worn flat by the multitude of walkers! This is an ideal place to begin your Coast to Coast walk or just to stay when exploring St Bees. Steve and Janet catered excellently to our... More

We are 3 American women, it was a wonderful place to start the Coast to Coast. Both Janet and Steve were warm and welcoming, the rooms very comfortable. We were served a lovely tea when we arrived, and a delicious breakfast in the morning. Best of all was the advice from Steve.

We spent one night here before starting the Coast-to-Coast walk and we couldn't have had a better start: the welcome was warm and friendly, the room was bright, comfortable and spacious and the breakfast excellent.

Steve and Janet were very friendly hosts. As we had taken 2 days to travel by train from Cornwall we were grateful for the short walk suggested by Janet, which also enabled us to see where we would start our C2C walk the following morning. After a good nights sleep in our comfortable room we were treated to an excellent... More
