We popped in for a lunch after a walk in Craggy Wood, as we'd heard good things about the pub. It had a nice atmosphere, seeming like a locals sort of bar, and the staff were nice and friendly. The food though left a lot to be desired. The chicken Caesar salad had a breast of warm cajan chicken with...

The room was good, clean and very comfortable. A very nice evening meal with a range of interesting beers, and really nice beer garden by the river (take your coat!) meant that overall, this was an excellent experience.

We enjoyed our few days in this great pub. The accommodation was very good, as was the food and service. There was a lively atmosphere in the bar, and we enjoyed the quiz too. We are looking forward to visiting again soon. 😀

Serves meals but didn't eat here (would have done given more time during stay). Seems a friendly place, lovely staff. Well behaved dogs welcome. Beer garden opposite pub for outdoor seating. Play park very close for children.

This pub serves consistently good food which is very reasonably priced. We always feel welcome , it has a good atmosphere and there is on road parking close by. The pub is decorated in an interesting way too. One of our favourites.

Whenever we visit the Lake District we always call here for a meal on the Friday evening. This time round however the quality left a lot to be desired. As a family of four we had a variety of meals but the main courses we chose lacked in both quality and quantity. The steak and ale pie came in a...

We've been visiting this pub for over 10 years since our first visit to the Lake District. Inside it's very quirky with lots of unique and interesting items hung from the ceiling and on the walls. . There's a good selection of beers and an excellent menu. The Sunday roast is always good. The portions are big and always piping...

This pub serves the best chicken pie I've ever had, and it frequently appears on the £5 lunch time menu. It also comes with a generous portion of steak cut chips. When I went I had this delicious pie followed by the homemade brownie with English Lakes ice cream. I highly recommend this pub, the food never fails to impress...

We have stayed here numerous times over the years, bringing friends and family members. We frequently stay in the Lakes in various establishments but always call into the pub for drinks and food which never fails. Its an extremely comfortable and friendly place to stay and we always have at least an annual visit to relax and charge our batteries....
