Lovely to be back at The Bay Horse. Friendly welcome for our 2 night stay. Usual excellent food from Bob Lyons and service good. Just so peaceful eating in the conservatory overlooking the estuary. The advantage of a winter visit is the late sunrise and a spectacular view from the bay facing rooms - photo hopefully attached. Back soon !

On walk from Ulverston to Grange, stopped off for pint each at Bay Horse. Never had such a bad pint of stella, £8.20 for two. Made husband vomit and threw mine away. Thats a first. will never go back, ruined what was a perfect weekend getaway. I would recommend they leave the water in the tap in future or the... More

The restaurant has amazing views & the bar man was extremely nice, polite and attentive. The bitter was off.. Which he corrected with several apologies.. We had... More

We booked a room with a view and the view is absolutely spectacular looking over the bay. The staff were very friendly and could not have been more helpful. We did think that the hotel really needed refurbishing and yes the rooms are small. We ate in the restaurant and enjoyed the food although it is more costly than we... More

We booked two nights as we were going to a wedding in Ulverston. We had 'phoned the day before to ask whether we could get into our room early as we needed to get ready for the wedding and despite being full the night before our room was ready a good two hours earlier than it should have been. Our... More

The view is the only amazing thing about this place. We were really disappointed with the exterior when we arrived and walking into the bar there was a strong musty smell. Our room was small ,not much they can do about that but the view from the patio doors just about made up for it.one of the biggest disappointments was going out... Arrived saturday evening at 7.20 for meal heard lots of good things about this place. After a very awkward greeting from the bar staff we were asked to take a seat but were given no idea where!! Within a couple of minutes we were asked what drinks we would like and they bought them straight over. Then followed the menus.... More
