Excellent location with superb views. The 'room' was actually a small suite on the top floor. Quaint and traditional in style, what it lacked in headroom it more than made up for in character and charm. The full breakfast was first class. Highly recommended.

The bed was sumptuous and the pillows outstandingly plump. I didn't feel like climbing out of it in the morning, except that the roomy bathroom was tempting The decor was perfect and no expense had been spared on curtains, with their classy tie-backs. Breakfast was excellent and the hosts charming. What's not to like.

We stayed in the stable annex which had been tastefully modernised but still retained a lot of original character in its styling and furnishings. We were set on our way with a generous Englush breakfast and a wide choice of fruit. The location provides a great view of the town. Highly recommend for anybody planning to do the Cumbria Way.

Booked room as the base at both ends of our Cumbria Way holiday. Spoke to owner in advance and was able to leave our car in their car park for the week we are away. Owner left room ready although she wasn't at home when we arrived. Lovely en suite room and access to a large comfortable lounge. Dog made... More

We stayed just one night - in one of the rooms in the annexe to the main house. The room was pleasantly situated with a large, modern bathroom but everything needed a thorough clean. We turned back the bed to find hairs, the floor had not been vacuumed, dead flies on window sill, the loo had obviously been used, dirty... More

We stayed one night and were made very welcome. We were offered our own kitchen and spacious lounge. Bedrooms were nice and the bathroom great. There were a few cobwebs and a need to check small details. Breakfast excellent.

Five of us stayed overnight whilst cycling the Bay Cycleway. Great views from the garden towards Morecambe and Heysham. Our room was in the annexe and had a jacuzzi bath and rain shower, very welcoming to relax in after cycling all day. The bedroom was clean and had all the facilities you'd expect. There was also a spacious guest lounge... More

This is a little gem, hidden up the back roads of Ulverston. The hosts are well used to catering for walkers- we were starting the Cumbria Way and they were really kind and let us leave our car with them all week while we walked and then returned by bus. The rooms are lavish- furnished with antiques, it felt like... More

Stayed one night at start of walking the Cumbria Way. Three adults and a dog, two rooms which were well furnished with outstanding bathrooms. A very comfortable lounge and kitchen available. Out lab was made to feel most welcome. Easy access into town. Breakfast was outstanding. The views from the house (an exquisite victorian house) over the Bay and hills... More
