Stayed for work last night, the landlady was very friendly and explained everything in good detail. the room was very clean and tidy, with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent, very good value for the nights stay. I noticed that other reviews mentioned the noisy road, i slept with the window open and didn't disturb once during the night.

Lovely one night stay in a beautiful well looked after B&B. A home from home! The breakfast was delicious and our stay was very reasonably priced. ! Lovely stay thank you very much! - would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Alton Towers or just seeking a relaxing short break with a lovely scenic view.

We were attending a wedding at nearby Osmaston Park so The Lilacs is very conveniently located. Our room was very clean and spacious enough for a one night stay. The owner is very welcoming and helpful on arrival. We had an ensuite room and the bathroom was a good size with a shower as well as a bath. We were... More

A small homely B&B that only offers two rooms. The parking was fine, the room was comfy and there was a good supply of tea, coffee, etc. There was a seated area at the bottom of the garden which looked out over the fields. The breakfast was good and I found the land lady to be friendly and helpful. I... More

We found our way to The Lilacs by way of our sat nav, or at least to the road. Yes, the noisy thundering traffic road. The speed limit is 40 mph, but I estimate that all traffic, including monster trucks were travelling at 60 mph. We daren't stop and so pulled round into a side street and went looking on... More

Took my boyfriend to Alton Towers and stayed here for two nights, what a lovely place. Rooms were very clean and stocked up with water and tea/coffee. The lady was lovely, made a delicious breakfast and was happy to prepare a packed lunch for us which was very good. Definitely recommend.

Nice B and B with nice landlady although it is a little old fashioned for my liking and think it could do with an update. Very noisy fan in the bathroom and very cold room. All in all it was clean and did what I needed for one night . I would stay again.

We've stayed here twice now, once in the B&B and once in the cottage. Both are lovely. We're always made to feel welcome and breakfast is great. We chose The Lilacs as it's so close to Alton Towers, just 15min drive away and much cheaper than the B&B in the village close to the theme park. We've already booked the... More
