Lovely hotel with comfortable rooms and an excellent full English breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful. Beautiful garden at the rear. Our junior suite was spacious and very comfortable. Nice restaurant and bar area.

Nice hotel for a wedding in a lovely location! Good food during the wedding breakfast although service was quite slow even though the wedding guests were rushed into the room to eat! Staff were very friendly. We stayed in a junior suite. Clean, pretty room with lovely views although I was expected something more grand being in a suite. Breakfast...

We popped in for Sunday lunch after passing through castleton and we couldn't get parked. A great fine, quiet and lots of parking. The service and food was fantastic and worth every penny. Had leg of lamb with all trimmings and husband had fish and chips. Very high quality food

Clean, spacious rooms, easy to find although a bit noisy by night being on the main road, have good potential but, no internet, very few TV channels, expensive meals. Other than that it`s a good hotel

Have just had an overnight stay here whilst visiting Derbyshire. We booked a standard double but were upgraded to a superior room (Winhill Room) which was excellent and at no extra charge. The food was lovely, fresh bread on your table was a nice touch, it was well cooked, beautifully presented and the service was excellent. A special mention for...

Rooms are reasonably priced, clean and comfortable but the hotel does need a little updating. We had a suite, which was huge, but the rooms our sons had were spacious too. The road at the front is busy so quieter rooms are at the back. The food was excellent! We had both a snack lunch and dinner and we couldn't...

Popped in for Sunday dinner. Easy to find and plenty of parking. Place a bit empty, but welcoming. Seemed a bit functional but fine for dinner - no need to dress-up! Menu okay and food arrived in good time. Was going to return next day - but closed on Mondays!

We have just returned from a week's holiday in this area and chanced upon the Rising Sun restaurant half way through the week. The food was excellent, they have a young chef who really knows how to cook and we returned more than once to sample his food. The meal starts with a complimentary home baked loaf, steaming hot, which...

We had a junior suite - spacious room and bathroom. Queen sized bed was comfy. Room was quite warm when we arrived, but we kept the window open all night and all was good. Nice toiletries. Lovely yard and gardens. Very easy to find. Plenty of parking spots. Ate in restaurant as was more convenient than driving somewhere. Glad we...
