A mere stone's throw away from Bamford railway station, this is an excellent, friendly and quiet establishment. The en-suite rooms are very neat and tidy, and one might find an antique here or there. Options for breakfast include cereal, toast, fruit and full English, and your tea and coffee is made for you by the hosts. The breakfast table is...

My partner and I stayed in room 1, which is beautifully decorated and has the added bonus on a massive free-standing bath in the large en-suite bathroom. We were impressed by the level of care that had obviously gone into the room, all of the décor was complementary to the style of the house and there were many little extras...

We stayed here two nights with another couple. Rooms were comfortable and nicely fitted out with toiletries and tea supplies. Our friends had the ensuite shower which looked lovely; our bathroom was private but down the hall, but bathrobes were provided so it was no problem padding down and back. There is free wifi (best reception in the living room)...

My wife and I stayed here for a two night weekend break. We asked for a rear bedroom (room 1) after reading other reviews and was glad we did as the room was nice and quiet whereas the rooms at the front were probably noisier with traffic from the road in front. The room was en-suite and although the bathroom...

Than you for posting your review. However, I really don't know how you can say that the inn which you mention offers cheaper accommodation than ourselves. Even taking into account their discount etc. they are still considerably more expensive, as a visit to their website will confirm.

The B&B was very comfortable, with so much attention to detail. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great and kept us going on our hikes through the peaks each day. Spent a lovely 3 nights and next time we are in the Peak Districts we will definitly stay at this B&B again.

We spent a lovely three days at the Pioneer House in late March. Janet and Dave were very helpful in helping us decide what to do while we stayed in the Peak District. They where also very accommodating by providing an early breakfast (5:30) the day we departed. The food was great. Do not be afraid to stay here, you...

Tip top spotless B&B with great friendly service. Minutes from Bamford station. Road is moderately busy with traffic so request a back room if a light sleeper. Landlord Dave gave us a free short lift to a business meeting. Highly recommended.

I travelled with my wife and adult daughter to this well situated gem. The rooms had modern bathrooms (with quiet plumbing) and were well appointed and decorated with trinkets and nicely dressed windows. It felt quite homey. The owners were very good hosts that served excellent breakfasts and knew the area well for good walks and attractions although there are...

Ideal B&B for us, we travelled up from t'south by train so the Pioneer was ideally situated near the station after the journey which also made it handy for trains to Edale a couple of stops 'up' (or is that down?) the line for walking excusions in that area. Bus stops are also outside for those wanting to go the...

We got a warm welcome and checked straight in to our room. We arrived by train and the B&B was just a few short minutes walk from Bamford train station which was great for us. Our lovingly restored home is relaxed and friendly with three comfortable bedrooms that have up-to-date en-suite or private facilities. “Room one has a lovely large bath.”

“Having the room with the bathtub included worked great for us- it was also nice and quiet with a pretty view from the window. If you plan to use the buses, get acquainted with the times and routes. The services we needed all passed by the house but times were not always ideal and sometimes limited when you are staying there during the weekdays- keep an eye on when they run!”
