This place never fails to cleanse my soul! The welcome is always warm, the food hearty & flavourful and the beer is just too good! Our 4th or 5th time to visit just food & drinkls this time, but each time we have stayed the rooms are lovely with views to die for. I almost don't want to review this...

We went for the brilliant steak and wine for two £34. Wonderful meal. Cheesecake was yummy too! Can imagine it gets busy later but we went early. Lovely bar for just drinks if you don't want food. Recommended.

The Ye Old Nags Head is good place to stay in Castleton. Stayed in the Losehill room. Queen sized bed with on suite shower & toilet. Food is very good in the restaurant on an evening. The restaurant provides the location for breakfast where the full English is outstanding.

Had lunch here, first impressions were very good staff very welcoming. A 17th century inn with modern comforts. I had the black pudding mash potatoes with smoked Cumberland sausage in a Yorkshire pudding and onion gravy and it was delicious. Generous helping to the point that I couldn't finish mine. The menu offers the chance to mix and match different...

We actually ended up at this hotel by mistake as our original hotel down the road called us a couple of hours before and let us down saying they had a problem with the toilet in our room. Anyway... In Ye Olde Nags head we were extremely happy with our room(Winfell ). It was spacious and in keeping with the...

Booked due to Tilly's being fully booked & it's roast dinners always being well received on Trip Advisor. Overall the pub is oldie worldie with an open fire & obviously kept in tradition. We were seated upstairs which is more boutique & to be fair seemed out of sorts to the downstairs but it was very well presented & smart...

All the staff were friendly, responsive and welcoming. The meals are huge but, unlike some places, that is not done to disguise the quality. The Derbyshire Breakfast was just awesome, comprising local produce as much as possible and very tasty at that. So it was quality and quantity with nice touches such as fresh flowers on the tables. The bar...

We stopped in for lunch, it was a lovely warm place on a chilly day. We had home made lasagne which I think could quite possibly be the best I have ever tasted. Friendly staff and reasonable prices, highly recommended.

We booked well in advance of our visit to ensure we got a table for both nights of our stay. Our first visit nearly prompted a call to Greenpeace as my fish, as part of a fish/chip meal, looked like a whale it was so big and beautifully cooked. Oue second visit was a very well cooked steak with my...

We popped in for lunch, without reservation and was made very welcome, lovely atmosphere, open fire, very cosy. There is a good choice of beers, we ordered sandwiches, which were delicious, served with chips and salad, very good size portions at a very reasonable cost. Will definitely visit again.
