We stayed here for two nights, and found the Ramblers Rest has everything you need from a B&B. The room was huge, with plenty of space to spread out all our walking gear. The bed was comfortable, and the room was pretty well equiped (TV, kettle, hairdryer, etc). The bathroom had a Jacuzzi bath but no shower (we were told... More

We stayed at the Ramblers Rest on 14 and 15 March 2014. We stayed in Room 5 which has its own front door, is very dog friendly, which suited us and our Golden Retriever, and with its own sitting area and comfy seats is more like a mini apartment than a bedroom. Hosts were very friendly and helpful ensuring we... More

It would be hard to beat Rambler’s Rest for a place to stay in Castleton. Robbie and Claire make an excellent team and it was great to stay at their lovely b&b in the heart of the village. We were in a group of seven and everyone was very happy with their stay. Our rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast... More

Walking into the Ramblers Rest you enter a warm, fresh and thoroughly British B&B. The location is perfect, with immediate access to Winnats Pass and the Pubs of Castleton. The room was cosy and had a very relaxing feel. The full english breakfast was all cooked perfectly, and a cracking choice of extras to fuel you up for the day,... More

Can only echo the views of others. Stayed here with family and friends recently. Friendly people, nothing too much trouble. Really understand walker's needs well. Very child friendly (quite nice to newly turned 50-year old's too!!). Excellent 5* breakfast. Quiet side street location and private car park. Well done Claire and Robbie - you deserve all your evident popularity and... More

We had a great weekend at the Rambler's Rest, which is in lovely old building in an ideal location with a handy private car park opposite. We stayed in room 3 which was really nice, and a perfect size for our needs. The breakfasts were very tasty, setting us up well for our walks and caving trips. Claire and Robbie... More

We stayed here as a family for 3 nights between Christmas and New Year. It was excellent. The beds were very comfortable, the breakfast was 5*and the location was just superb. 6 pubs are with walking distance and so are some of the best walks in Derbyshire. Clare and Robbie were so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for... More

My girlfriend and I fancied the night away, our only requirements being a good B&B and a nice meal. I booked the Ramblers Rest and it was fantastic. I've stayed in a few B&B! And sometimes you find theirs an air of awkwardness which can make you feel uncomfortable. But not at the Ramblers Rest. Claire and Robbie were great... More

What a great little find. Not knowing the area or the b&b we feel every lucky to have spent new year in a very beautiful spot, residing in lovely accomodation. Great room, helpful hosts, cracking breakfast and plenty to do right at the door step.

There is nothing that is too much trouble for Robbie and Claire! So very accommodating and helpful to our needs, going the extra mile to make our stay much better than the average b&b. Excellent local knowledge of what to do, where to go! Top people!
