Ideal B&B for my first night on the pennine way, with a pot of tea and cake on the veranda overlooking the reservoir and also a lift into the nearest village for a bite to eat at night - To sooth the first days aches was ideal

We stayed two nights and walked first two days of the Pennine Way. Snug rooms, warm welcome, perfect location. Joanne and James couldn't have been more helpful. The breakfast and packed lunch is highly recommended.

Run by a very welcoming family and consisting of comfortable and extremely clean and fresh rooms, this gem is situated beside the Torside reservoir in the beautiful Longendale Valley. We stayed two nights, Aug 2016 bank holiday and loved every minute. The Peels Arms in Padfield Village - approx.1.5 miles away serves excellent food (though you may not be able...

Me and a group of five friends stayed here while cycling in the Peaks. The owners welcomed us with a pot of tea, a safe place to store our bikes, and very well maintained bedrooms which were clean, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast the next day was delicious. Very friendly staff. I would certainly recommend this to anyone who wanted a...

James and Jo were incredibly helpful and their local knowledge of the area was invaluable as this section of the walk is not for the faint hearted or unfit. We had B & B with them which was very comfortable with excellent breakfasts, and in addiction to this we arranged that they collected us from remote places at the end...

Today was my third visit to the tea rooms. I visit with a friend and our dogs halfway along our walk. We usually sit on the benches in the grassed area (please don't tarmac this for parking as suggested by another reviewer!) This is the perfect place for the dogs to explore while we tuck into sandwiches and tea. Service...

This is for the tea room. Good views, we went on a beautiful day and sat outside. Decent range of cakes to choose from. Menu small, but should be good enough for most. Prices low. Limited seating inside, so don't take a large party if the weather's not fine. Limited hours, so check the website before you set off. Tables...

Perfect pit stop after a walk round the dam. The young girls work really hard here. Very friendly too. Male manager is a bit grumpy but didn't let that spoil our visit. Only one toilet for both men and women as this is a very popular tearoom it might be an idea to expand this block. Also maybe tarmac over...

We can't thank James and Joanne the owners of The Old House tea room and B & B enough for their friendly cup of coffee supplied whilst we awaited the recovery of our vehicle. We regularly pass the tea room but will now definetly not be passing but calling in for a coffee and cake. Fantastic views and great for...
