Friendly welcome and very comfortable room Tea room with great reservoir views Take you to the pub (closest 3miles in padfield) and back (if back by 9) Great breakfast and huge packed lunch Doesn't do food but welcome tea and great choice of cakes - tea room should do well!

We visited here for the second time in a few weeks. If the weather is good enough to sit out the surrounding views are stunning. On both occasions we.ve sat out on the bench tables on the grassy area, there's also a decking area with tables n chairs. As we've sat out out on both visits haven't really paid attention... More

1 space for blue badge parking. No dedicated accessible toilet ,however there is an accessible toilet in a bedroom but you have to navigate around a bed and are faced with a glass shower which is difficult to see. Food superb. We had Clementine cake. Balcony with great views as well as indoor tables. Watch out when parking for the raised manhole... More

Three of us visited here on Good Friday for lunch. I know that both my son and daughter had been previously and recommended it. We chose the "Friday Special" of fish and big chunky chips served on wooden platters. The food was indeed excellent. The staff were also very pleasant and prices were reasonable. All in all a nice girly... More

It felt like a long plod down the road after a first day on the Pennine Way. Arrived to a friendly welcome and a much needed pot of tea. Lovely room with good powerful shower. Lift to and from pub much appreciated.

Friendly and helpful staff initially at the café part of the premises. Very nice cup of tea provided after our first days walk along the Pennine Way. The Bunkhouse room for the four of us was very comfortable and clean. The tv was also very good. There is a sink in the room but the excellent showers and toilets are... More

A little bit but acceptable distance along the road to get there from the PW. Got a lovely room with little but ok bathroom. Unfortunately, the tea room was closed that day but could get some cake and coffee anyways. Owners offer lift to pub in the next village for a little fee. There is also a shortcut over the... More

Walking the Longendale trail we spotted a sign for tea. From the trail we could see, up the hill, an attractive decked area where people where enjoying teas and coffees etc. There is no stile to get over the wall so you have to be fit to climb over. Then as you start to walk up the hill the long... More

Thank you for your review. The sign is to show where we are located. Unfortunately we do not own the land between the trail and ourselves. We have previously approached United Utilities who are the landowners for a stile but their response was that "They are not in the habit of enhancing other people's businesses ". The official footpath is... More

Used "The Old House" for 2 nights when walking The Pennine Way. Proprietors will collect bags or transport you North or South as required. Also take and collect you from the local pub in the evening for a small fee. A drying cupboard (very warm) to dry clothes, a place to clean boots and a kitchen if you want to... More
