The staff here could not have done more to make our stay enjoyable. The rooms were comfortable and clean.. Reasonably priced and tasty food both at dinner and breakfast. Great value for money . Thank you

Collapsed into the restaurant after a long walk to be met with a very friendly atmosphere and welcome. What was needed was a cold pint and hot sustenance. I got it! The Steak and Ale nestling in a large Yorkshire pudding smothered in delicious gravy accompanied by delicious mashed potato just hit the spot. I can't recommend Noreen and her...

Our first visit to this restaurant / pub. Weather was nice so sat outside. Dog friendly. Had full English breakfast which was nice. Didn't look much when it came out but surprisingly filling. A clean breakfast (not swimming in fat and oil). Wasn't keen on the mushrooms but apart from that it was fine. Friendly staff, reasonably priced and relatively...

They must be doing something right! It's a 125 mile round trip, but it was worth it once again last Sunday. Excellent food and service at very reasonable prices. But ... phone reception is dire because of the geography, any chance of Wi-Fi in the restaurant?

Been to this pub many times and it never fails to please. The food is good value for money and very tasty and there is always some good beers on tap. On a nice day there is a great view across the vally from the Beer Garden. The homemade Derbyshie was excellent!

We've eaten here a few times in the past (and always really enjoyed the food), but hadn't been for four years. Since then I've gone from being vegetarian to vegan and so was disappointed on discovering that there was nothing for me on the menu. However, upon asking I was offered a couple of basic options. I opted for a...

Called in for an early dinner and chose the Derbyshire meat and tattie pie with mash and mushy peas from the menu. This was a very tasty dish and left little room for a dessert afterwards, although I did end up having ice cream. Staff are welcoming and friend and the food good value.

You can't fault the staff at the Millstone - they are all friendly and ready to help. As a passing stop for cyclists or walkers it's probably ok. We stayed here for two nights and dined on one of them and were left disappointed. The rooms are ok, but only ok - not worth what we paid by some way....

Thank you for your review. Your comments and feedback are appreciated and we are sorry that your experience with us was disappointing in a couple of areas. Unfortunately it is not overly clear as to why you felt the food was lacking but you do mention pricing - which is on a par with the various other hotels in the...

Every time I visit this establishment it just gets better. The food is outstanding and the service is fantastic. I wish some of the local eating places would visit and see how it's done nothing is to much trouble for this great watering hole not on the menu then ask and they will do their best to accommodate-That's customer service. The Millstone probably do the best Carvery ever. They have done for years. However I had one of their homemade shortcrust pastry pies for lunch. Wow, what a treat. It was fab. Highly recommended. Great service and excellent food.
