This was a first visit for me here and unless you know its there you'd drive past it; its not well signed and I guess its a locals pub. The beers were good, well kept and presented as you'd expect. The sandwiches we had after the meeting were very nice too. Its a quaint English pub with good beer. The...

We arranged to meet a good friend from many years past, for a light lunch here 3days ago whilst we were staying in the area for a few days at a different local hotel . The area was new to me but not to the others. The district is delightful, and this choice of lunch venue fitted in well with the...

We were running a bit late for lunch (3.00pm) and a few places had stopped serving food by then, luckily we were recommended to try The Plough Inn, as they serve food al day. It was a pleasant surprise all round. The food was great and the restaurant/bar area was very warm and cozy. I had the burger, which was...

Positives- good eye contact as soon as we walked in and friendly service. Artichoke salad excellent but fish portion very small. My husband's steak pudding excellent but vegetables would have been nice. Not so good - the price . expensive for 2 course lunch with wine

Little expensive for what it was , lamb was a little fatty but the beef was good . The service was ok however the manager was not very welcoming and friendly . The place is nice and an ideal drop in point after a nice walk .

Four of us stayed here overnight on a Sunday. We stayed for a meal which was beautiful, not cheap but not outrageous. Rooms were very comfortable and well appointed. Again, not cheap but not outrageously expensive. Staff were lovely and welcoming on a cold February night. Great cooked breakfast.

We booked quite last minute for a group of 4 (two couples) for a shared room (saving pennies!) at The Plough. What a great find! The welcome was lovely, staff friendly, the room was a great size, clean, lovely sheets, great bedroom, comfy beds, nothing broken or missing, lovely and warm. We ate in the pub in the evening after...

Food good but expensive and not a lot of veg on the Sunday lunch for £15. Pudding cost 9 pounds which is ridiculous. Service very slow in between courses. Customer service could have been so much better. Nice atmosphere and a cosy place though.

Nice place to come across in the Peaks but a bit pricey, food a bit salty. There is also the issue of the details of the dishes which they serve not being fully explained on the menu. A cheese sandwich, for example, is actually a cheese and pickle sandwich. Bacon is actually smoked bacon. This really needs to be made...
