We stayed in the Partridge room. It was immaculately clean, spacious and elegantly decorated. The extras are lovely, from the Kilner jars of quality teas, the Nespresso coffee machine, abundance of toiletries and lush bathroom robes to the complimentary sparkling water. The bed is very comfortable and the temperature of the room can be changed to your individual choice. The...

I had a very good venison dish with bean cassoulet, very tasty. It also had a good choice of real ales. I also visited one of their bedrooms, it was excellent, definitely a place to come for a long weekend

Stayed one night taking advantage of the Sunday Supper Club offer. Garden room lovely and spacious, modern and exceptionally clean. Food and service brilliant, just a bit slow at cocktail making but the French Martini was definitely worth the wait! Will be back soon.

We stayed here with friends who had stayed many times before and couldn't speak highly enough about the quality of the accommodation, the food and particularly the staff. We have to say that they were right on all three counts. A lot of thought has gone into creating really comfortable and cosy bedrooms that give an unrestricted view of the...

This pub would put many a five star hotel to shame which is why we keep returning. Bedrooms are superb and fully equipped to include a lovely cosy lounge area with a fire. The pub itself is really warm and welcoming with nice decor. It is also very dog friendly and our "Dolly" is always fussed over by the staff...

We called in to the Carpenters Arms on our way back from Northallerton, North Yorkshire. What a great gastropub! Warm welcome and roaring open log burning fire. The staff are super courteous, efficient and friendly. I had a some nibbles - feta cheese, olives and roasted nuts beautifully presented and reasonably priced (£6.50). The Carpenters Arms is set in a...

Extremely comfortable, well-equipped, quiet (garden) room, delicious dinner in the pub-side of the hotel, all with very friendly and efficient service. And very prompt and correct response to a subsequent query. Will certainly come here again.

Met up with family for Sunday lunch at this traditional pub with a dining area. Prompt service and the food was excellent - roast meat with enormous Yorkshire puddings. Well-behaved dogs are allowed in the dining room.

We visited today for lunch with friends and our 3 young children. Had a delicious 3 course meal-excellent food, service and ambience and nothing was too much trouble at all. The children's menu was superb and our children loved the food, crayons, stickers and drawing activities. A superb little find, will definitely come back very soon.

We stayed here a couple of weeks ago for one night and had a brilliant stay. The room we stayed in was a garden room, which was lovely and spacious with a great bathroom and sitting area. There was also a seating area outside. Very nice setting. We ate in the pub at night and had an excellent meal. All...
