This is a privately owned property, owner Richard was very friendly. He obviously takes pride in this property, nothing is broken and full marks for cleanliness. Fully kitted kitchen for you to cook your favorite meal. After having an average meal at a nearby restaurant on the first night, we decided to cook our own dinner next day. You just...

Enjoyed our time at the Spyglass Inn. Innkeepers are excellent and live on the top floor of the Inn. Full ocean view in every room. Wonderful deck with sunset views every night. Large black sand and pebble beach just down the street. Each room has a full kitchen which is convenient as dining options are few and sparce in this...

This was a getaway that my husband planned. He found this amazing place that seemed too good to be true. Rest assure, it was better than I expected. Shelter Cove is about 4 hours north of San Francisco, the trip getting to our destination was a bit difficult and at times a little dizzy. The closer you get to the...

We visited the Spyglass inn for our 25th Anniversary in July. Our goal was to spend time in the Redwood's and also see the coast. The trees were amazing and the drive over the pass in a convertible was the highlight of our trip. It is definitely worth the trip to the coast for the view and the hospitality from...

My wife and I received a recommendation to visit the Spyglass Inn at Shelter Cove from our parents - they couldn't say enough about the accommodations, the scenery and the great hiking available in the area. They were absolutely right. First off, the accommodations are lovely. The room we stayed in had an incredible view of the ocean, a private...

And lots of it. Always appreciated when arriving to a new place. In this instance, in addition to the hospitality, the view is lovely, the room clean and spacious and the area calm and quirky. Shelter Cove is not a cookie cutter tourist experience. Enjoy!

We just had the most amazing, relaxing couple of day at the Spyglass Inn. We were originally going to stay only one night but quickly decided to stay two as the place is so wonderful and comfortable. We were welcome by Richard and instantly made feel at home. The suite was beyond words as it was so spectacular as soon...

This unique "End-of-the-Road" destination is a perfect destination for anyone seeking natural beauty. Hikes, wildlife view (including whales), ocean music and immaculate acomodations with a well stocked kitchen and cozy jacuzzi make for a romantic visit. We hiked the Lost Coast; went tide pooling and abalone diving at low tide; then took in a breathtaking sunset and star filled sky...

Another lovely weekend stay... We don't have much gumption when staying at Spyglass, more of a lazy daze, fog of the mind, utter mind blank bliss. That's what we go there for, that restful respite of nothingness. Not that there wasn't plenty to do. There are the many tide pools which take several hours of the day. Nice meandering down...
