My husband and I decided to treat ourselves to a weekend away from the kids, and decided to try out Shelter Cove, since we are new to the area (Mendocino resident, Los Angeles transplant). We were welcomed by an incredibly friendly innkeeper, who was very informational. I feel like I've known her for years! We arrived in our room, and...

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Inn of the Lost Coast. The drive in through redwoods is beautiful. The inn is in a great location with an awesome view looking out over the Pacific. Our room was clean and spacious. I had one of the most relaxing experiences of my life—laying back in the in-room jacuzzi...

I had king size a room on the third floor with a balcony and breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean as the waves crashed on the rocks below. My room was very spacious and well equipped with refrigerator, microwave, crockery, silverware; etc. There is a pizza place incorporated in to the hotel, next door to the office which also sells...

Stay here if you can! The views are unreal! Every room has a balcony over looking the ocean. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The decor could use some updates however you can barely notice past the view. If you can stay on the second or third floor. The unobstructed view makes it worth the climb. The staff are very...

This was a place we checked out on a whim after seeing an ad on the website for avenue of the giants (redwoods). We are from Connecticut and not familiar with the area. Holy crud- this location is surreal-most beautiful coastline I have ever seen. You cannot swim here but it is amazing in so many ways. The inn could...

An unexpected surprise. We received a warm welcome and a personal tour of the facilities. Couldn't have asked for a nicer view. Took advantage of the outdoor hot tub overlooking the ocean. Room was clean and the third floor view from the balcony was spectacular. Our breakfast host, Jack was very informative about "sleeper waves", the "lost coast trail", and...

The place is very nice. Set on top of a cliff so every room has a view. Full size refrigerator, microwave, dishes & utensils. Free cable & wifi. There's a pizza restaurant on site along with a coffee shop except the coffee shop closes on Wednesdays. Room decor is outdated but who cares! The view is amazing & you can...

I flew there because it looked like a really fun place to fly to. It was awesome! So peaceful and relaxing. I picked this hotel because they are friendly to airplanes, pets, and motorcycles all of which I love. If you fly in they give a discount and they have a van that you can use included in the price....

We had a fly-in weekend to Shelter Cove, staying at the Inn of the Lost Coast. Loren welcomed us at reception; the service was excellent, and helpful. I asked to have a bottle of champagne waiting in our room for a birthday celebration surprise, and Loren took care of everything with chilled champagne in ice bucket, nice touch! Our hotel...
