We stayed 3 nights here and we arrived late and were left instructions and bananas for feeding the possums. We stayed in the Cassewary Hut and the male and his 2 chicks were waiting the next morning for us. Everything was provided for - turtle...More
My adult son and I stayed here for 4 days, interested in the nature it had to offer. Our host David was very knowledgeable and accommodating, and helped us with suggesting specific tours and places to visit which were amazing. The treehouse was lovely, and...More
I've stayed here on several occasions and find it to be well worth it. After staying in many self contained "luxury" accommodations, this one actually lives up to it. The kitchen is very well equipped, the cabin very cosy and comfortable. The manager is very...More
My partner and I spent two nights here and absolutely loved it. It was amazing feeding the possums and birds from our balcony and feeding the turtles in the creek just in front of our treehouse. There are many nearby waterfalls which are worth a...More
This is a really nice place. You are surounded by wildlife. A possum named Red was a regular visitor on our balcony. Really special. The walks are also nice and we booked a massage in our treehouse, which was really good.

Hi. None of the windows have screens, from memory. But there are also no mosquitoes. I can't say I saw many insects at all. The problem with having the windows open is that the cheeky little possums will come in at night and help themselves to your food. Haha. We only ever stayed in July so it was lovely and cold and we were happy to close the house up before it got dark. I couldn't said if it gets humid during warmer months. I suppose it would but it is this almost magical little pocket of rainforest that hides the sun and remains cool all day long. We would go walking at midday and have no concerns for sun exposure or heat.

There are several waterfalls on the Atherton Tablelands within a an hour drive of the Treehouses. The rainforest is all around you and I would walk through the rainforest at the Canopy Treehouses as this is one of the few places that have not been cleared. I have walked through the rainforest here and have seen Whip Birds, Tree Kangaroos, Green Tailed Possums etc. There are several tracks you can follow through the rainforest. You can feed the turtles and sometimes, if you are quiet, you can see platypus in the Ithaca River. The Treehouses overlook the Ithaca River. It is worth staying here.
