When I was researching a place to stay outside of Cairns I found there were actually two treehouse resorts. This one was by far more kid friendly so I booked it. I was so glad I did. First, this resort is located in the Tablelands,...More
This little piece of heaven is amazing from the minute we arrived. The tree house are beautifully perched in the forest canopy to maximise bird viewing bad mammal visits. Have seen some posts suggesting it is not luxury; no it's not a sun and surf...More
Though well-appointed with lots of little touches, the lodgings are more about the location and the ever-present fauna than absolute luxury. But that is the way that it should be given where this is.
So, if you are prepared for a little mud now and...More

There are several waterfalls on the Atherton Tablelands within a an hour drive of the Treehouses. The rainforest is all around you and I would walk through the rainforest at the Canopy Treehouses as this is one of the few places that have not been cleared. I have walked through the rainforest here and have seen Whip Birds, Tree Kangaroos, Green Tailed Possums etc. There are several tracks you can follow through the rainforest. You can feed the turtles and sometimes, if you are quiet, you can see platypus in the Ithaca River. The Treehouses overlook the Ithaca River. It is worth staying here.
