Something a bit out of the ordinary, the safari is awesome our host was very talkative and informative about the wide range of birds we saw. Dinner at night was superb, a heaped portion of Barramundi and veges was just what we needed.

From the Emu's that greeted us at the Lodge entrance to the great food and help of the owners, this place is a nature paradise. The tents are comfortable and the main Lodge is right on a lake surrounded by huge trees. You could spend days birding right there. Combine that with guided boat trips and van safaris and you... Had a great dinner on the deck- with sunset views across the water and then had the safari feel tent accommodation ( do not let the idea of a tent put you off, it has full size beds, shower and toilet inside, it was a lot bigger than most of the motel rooms I stay in) When had the privilege... Staying in the deluxe tent while emu's pass the veranda was an unique Experience. Especially because a huntsman spider decided to hunt next to our bed the first night. We enjoyed the Safari and learned a lot on all the Different birds in the mareeba wetlands.

I had an unbelievable stay at Jabiru Safari Lodge. I don't know where to begin! It is a small family run business, and so you get to know the owners, Margaret and Greg (who are wonderful, kind, genuine people). They spend time and get to know you personally, and tell you about their lifestyle here. The safaris are incredible, both... More

Our eco tent was very comfortable the food was all delicious. The setting is out of this world and we had two nights could have stayed longer, thank you Margaret and Greg

The whole time here reminded us of our Tanzanian safari. The accommodation was a safari wall tent, but permanent with water and power. A continental breakfast was provided the evening prior so one could greet the day on the deck. Other meals, which were very good, were in the main lodge which was open air with a great view of... Wow what a magical place. Right from the fabulous greeting by Samantha, Greg & Margaret's wonderful hospitality and Ewan's passion for birds, how could we fault Jabiru. If you can stay the night, try the Safari tents, well worth it. Would highly recommend this gem of a place to anyone travelling along the Tablelands.

The lake views from the visitor centre are stunning, especially the sunset. The couple who run this lodge were friendly and well organised. The man takes the tours of the Savannah/wetland area which were informative and the lady mans reception and catering. The food she cooked was excellent. Our tent had a fridge, kettle and toaster. You request your breakfast... More

We spent a week at Jabiru Safari Lodge, partly to see relatives nearby and partly to explore and see the wildlife. We had a lovely week and would recommend staying at least a few days as there is lots of space to explore, and its a great place to chill. Staying means you can get the walks in in the... More
