Our only regret is that we booked only two nights at Mick and Sue's beautiful lodge. My husband, mother-in-law and I were travelling around Queensland and we thoroughly enjoyed every moment at Licuala Lodge, even to the degree that we just hung around the grounds for most of one day, seeing no reason to leave! In the past, we have...

we really enjoyed this tranquille and lovely place. our room was very clean and furnished with excellent taste. the cooking facilities are very good. the breakfast was excellent with a wide range to choose from: fruits, self made yoghurt, salami, pancackes... we enjoyed sitting outside our room on a porch (or at the pool!) and just relaxing with the amazing...

A fabulous place to stay and experience the rain forest and natural habitat around Mission Beach. We only spent 2 nights (unfortunately), because of our tight schedule, however we would definitely book up again should we be visiting northern Queensland again. Our hosts were friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We booked an exciting day white water rafting on the...

If you're looking for a real rainforest experience, you can't do better than this place. You're right in the thick of it, although the rooms feel like an oasis in the middle of things. And Mick and Sue are truly wonderful hosts. Peace and quiet in abundance, but with plenty to do and see in the surroundings. Simply wonderful -...

The ensuite rooms are well appointed and the bed extra comfortable. Sue and Mick are welcoming hosts and provide detailed advice and counsel re the area,...

Only stayed here for a couple of days, but it should have been much longer. Would have to be the highlight of our visit to Australia. Seeing four cassowaries was a fabulous experience. Gardens like the rooms were immaculate. Could not fault the place. Mick and Sue were great hosts - invited us to share a bottle of wine with...

Visited Licuala Lodge on our way down the East Coast in March - booked it on line having read the reviews on Tripadvisor and I have to say everyone is spot on. From the ease of booking to all the instructions sent to us prior to our visit. We were very lucky to have the place to ourselves for 2...

If you travel through Australia, you probably want to see and do as much as possible in a limited amount of time. That's what we wanted and did, until we reached Mission Beach and stayed at Licuala Lodge. We wanted to stay for a night, but ended up staying four nights, and we could have easily stayed a lot longer!...
