Our 5th stay at Possum Valley. Blackbean cottage is very rustic and comfortable but the pillows, sheets, towels, doona covers have seen better days and need replacing. Other than that its an awesome place to sit back and relax. The walks in the rainforest are wonderful with much birdlife around. To sit on the deck and feed the possums at... More

I completely accept your criticism re threadbare linen. Quite true, seen better days. But I have a different view which leads me to assess objects by their utility and functionality rather than by their appearance. I can make minor adjustments to my brain which allows me to overlook any deficiencies in 'newness', or 'smartness'. So we have no disagreement, just... More

We stayed in Blackbean Cottage. The cottage is very rustic with basic facilities. A variety of native wildlife come to great you each evening. Make sure you take plenty of fruit treats for them and they will give you hours of pleasure. Unfortunately it rained during our stay and we weren't able to fully explore the property. We'd highly recommend... More

5 for the experience, not so much the lodging. 2 cottages which are basic but actually have everything you need (as others say, no TV). Blackbean is closer to the creek and gives you more chance of a platypus sighting whereas Maple is larger and able to accommodate perhaps 3 families but is further up the rise. We were on... More

Thanks Ron. You are quite right. Basic, but with everything you need. I have done a survey of guests and got the overwhelming response not to provide TV in the cottages. Mainly influenced I think by parents who wanted to disconnect their kids from the wired world. For addicts of various football codes, there is a TV in the games... More

The cabins were booked but Paul kindly let us stay with him. Possum valley is a beautiful place and run by very generous people. Definitely worth a visit. Be sure to walk the trails around the property, visit the meditation hut and keep an eye out for platypus.

Thanks Jack. And all I have to do is not mess with the environment and let the animals look after themselves. That is all they want and need. More

Hey Mick, I take exception to your accusation of "ridiculously low cost". I prefer to characterize it as modest cost. I think we all in the wealthy countries have to suck our heads in with regard to cost and consumption to keep the planet livable. The blindingly obvious fact that the green parties have not had the balls to say.... More

Visited with two daughters, son-in-law, 3 little grandsons and a granddaughter - it was truly "Possum Magic" complete with 'Hush' the baby possum on her mother's back. So much to do at PV - swam, rowed in the boat, played in the treehouse cubby, the games room, fed wallabies, possums and birds. The house we stayed in (Maple cottage) was... More

We are a seniors couple who spent 3 nights at Possum Valley in Maple Cottage. Loved every moment of it - daytime and nighttime. The cottage is huge and beautifully thought out with great indoor and outdoor living areas. Mobile reception was good in MC so we weren't totally isolated. We spent most of our time there on the veranda... More

Possum Valley was our best accomodation on a 4 weeks Australia trip. The Blackbean cottage at the creek is huge with full equipped kitchen.
