Flagstone floors and thick stone walls made this cottage a cool haven to come home to in the summer heat. The charming decor and thoughtful arrangement of comforts completed the feeling of welcome, calm and relaxation. Cockatoos overhead and a beautiful garden to wander in were additional delights. We ordered a cheese platter, which included all-local produce from the sparkling...

A beautiful location to base yourselves whilst enjoying Strathalbyn and the surrounding area. An easy stroll into town with all it has to offer, 5 minutes from some great wineries and even a short scenic drive to the beach. Heather and Graham are great hosts and their historic cottages are full of charm. When you are done with the sightseeing...

These historic cottages are set among vast landscaped gardens, with plenty of birdlife, and alongside the Angas River. It is only 2-3 minutes' walk from the town centre, with its many pubs, cafés and shops. The cottage I stayed in was large and lovingly furnished, and fully-equipped. I particularly enjoyed strolling around the gardens. The hosts, Heather and Graham, are...

Very close to the wineries and the owners took us on a tour of some of their favorites as we were only in town for 1 day. The town itself is less than 5 minutes walk and has amazing buildings and is such a beautiful location. We will be coming back for sure and the property was large enough to...

After many years of promising ourselves we would stay at a Bed and Breakfast we finally made the plunge and stayed at the Gas Works. What. a Brilliant experience. The old Stable cottage was near perfect with decor and supplies. Could not ask for nor want a better experience. The grounds were fantastic and well cared for. An absolute delight....

Great place if you want to visit wineries, check out the Murray, and to wander over the road to a bunch of food options. With all the rain the view of the creek in the back of the property was quite spectacular from our porch. Planning to visit again during the tour down under.

The pictures on the website did not reflect the room we stayed in. We were in the "stable cottage" at the far rear of the property. The cottage was in need of attention to detail to bring it to its full potential. The lounge/cough was tired and saggy, with both of us being tall it was unusable, we had to...

Hi Eric, Just wanted to respond with a quick note. We are the new owners of The Gasworks Strathalbyn, Heather and Graham. We have been in place for just over a week, and having stayed in the cottages previously, we also fell in love with the town, the gardens and the lovely feel of the place. Our aim as new...

Me and my partner visited this B&B for a weekend getaway. I must say this B&B provides everything you need. Its a good location and very nice garden too. If you are exploring this town - this B&B is a good choice as you can walk along the river to the Main Street.

5 stars!! Plus! The garden is really beautiful - make sure you walk through it. The cottage is cute & makes you go "awwww". Breakfast is provided - but you have to cook it - but you have all the facilities to cook (we also cooked our dinner in the cottage and went & ate it in the garden). 2...

A great place to stay. We used the cottage out the back. It was a quiet haven to spend the night. Every detail had been though of and provided to ensure we had a comfortable and relaxing stay. Bill was most helpful with local tourist spots and restaurants. His recommendation of Tiffen's restaurant was spot on.
