Had a night in Victor Harbour, and dinner at Anchorage was a highlight. Tapas of skewers of anchovies, olives and peppers, and spicy pork tacos were great starters. My main was spanner crab spaghetti and my husband's was a lamb dish - both incredibly tasty. The staff were friendly and attentive and the setting of the historic pub is beautiful.

It's a shame... I used to rate this place as one of the best in Victor Harbor, but its gone way downhill. 3 out of the last 4 steaks ($35) were either fatty gristle or way overcooked. I ordered medium rare and got well done plus a bit, 3 visits in a row... The menu is trying to be fancier...

My experience seems to be a bit different. I found the hotel great value for what I needed. I stayed in one of the heritage rooms with an ensuite and it was full of character and had sea views. The bedroom and bathroom were small but clean and functional and I had a separate sitting area. It could have used...

This is an older property which is functional and probably could be described as full of character but it was spoiled by one annoyance for us - the internet connection is good which meant one person in a room a few doors down spent three hours talking loudly in a foreign language on Skype . The problem was the three...

Our first night we felt like Goldilocks: this room is too small! There was not even room for a suitcase. Staff was able to upgrade us next day to a better room. Both rooms were comfortable for sleeping. Location made for easy access to beach and Granite Island.

Didn't realise until checking in that facilities were shared. Most disappointing. Best meal was in hotel across the railway line - seafood for 2 for $35 - absolutely excellent value. Local cinema was also great!

We'd just come from a week in a chain hotel when we stayed here and it was the perfect foil - charming and cosy. A friendly welcome from staff as well as some useful advice on the area; attractive room with a balcony and spa bathroom to ease the drive from the legs! Good location and a lovely view awaits.

The Anchorage is a lovely 'Blue Plaque ' hotel with small but well appointed rooms ideal for a one night stopover journey along the south coast. Good food, log burner, friendly and helpful staff. Victor Harbour is not big but the 'Anchorage' is close to all in this stylish close community, including walking out and around ' Granite Island' site...

I booked this online, having never stayed here. Booked an Upstairs Seafront Private Balcony Spa Room - It was clean, spacious and had great views. The bathroom was huge and had a great spa bath! Our view from our room was over the bowls club, but it was beautiful to see the ocean. The bed was the only downfall of...

The Anchorage is ideally situated facing out onto the water. The rooms are of a good size with the standard features, TV, Fridge, Kettle and room heaters. Across the road overlooking the Lawn Bowls ring is a magnificent view of the bay. Within a short walk the Information Centre and visitor attractions are all available, along with the multiple old...
