This was our second visit to White Oak Inn. We arrived mid afternoon and as we approached the premises it was very inviting. We stayed in one of the rooms in the guest house and had a relaxing afternoon sitting on the front porch watching the hummingbirds flying around. The grounds were well kept. We ordered a "dinner basket" for...

Thank you so much. In addition to the cookbook, the Eight Broads have a food blog and recipe website - 8Broads.com, and a Facebook page. The recipe for the pumpkin raisin muffins is on the website, along with many of our other breakfast recipes.

I recently stayed at the Inn with a large group of friends. We were in Danville for a wedding and decided to stay at the inn after seeing pictures of the cozy rooms and beautiful grounds on the website. What a mistake. Ian and Yvonne couldn't be any less thrilled that we were staying at the Inn. From the minute...

We have owned the White Oak Inn for 24 years. This is our home as well as our business and we genuinely love to share it with people We have had many experiences with individual guests and with groups. We have established certain rules, policies and controls, born of common sense and experience, to make sure all our guests have...

Had a very relaxing stay....peaceful country setting....great food. Lots to do in area around there...visited wineries and the Amish country. Loved watching all of the hummingbirds out front. Looks like a perfect setting for weddings.

Lovely inn, run by two welcoming and accommodating innkeepers, Ian and Yvonne. The house dog, Lab-mix Dougal, and less-frequently seen cat, Rascal, add to the warm atmosphere. The main house offers six upstairs rooms, of varying sizes, cozy and decorated with antique furniture. Very comfortable common room with piano and fireplace. A detached Guest House includes three units, two of...

Thank you for the kind words and detailed information. Would you like a job writing our advertising copy, LOL :) Just one little clarification.....there IS WiFi available in the main inn building which is accessible to all our guests at all times. There is no WiFi in the cottages themselves.

Quaint place with wonderful hosts. I chose to have dinner which was phenomenal and the breakfast was delicious as well! The place is down a quiet country road and with additional cabins and gazebo would be perfect for small family reunions or wedding.

When we travel we like to stay at B&B's as often as possible, so when we decided last minute to find one this weekend, we were happy we were able to get a room for a few nights at the White Oak Inn. They had a couple different rooms available, but we selected the Walnut Room because it had a...

Thank you for your kind words. Unfortunately in this area it's very hilly and cell phone reception goes in and out depending on whether you're at the top or bottom of a hill! The inn is in a valley, so minimal service here. Some carriers are better than others - Verizon and Sprint have the strongest signals. Guests with AT&T...

We had a wonderful weekend at the White Oak inn. The B&B was charming and quiet, and we had wonderful breakfasts and conversations with the innkeepers to start out our days. The location is great too! Lots of fun finding indian artifacts along the river and looking for birds and other wildlife nearby the inn. With proximity close to Gambier,...

Thank you. If your schedule suit for another visit you might want to check out our Spring Nature weekend, generally the last weekend of April each year, when bird migrations are at their peak. In addition to taking our guests for bird walks and other activities, our naturalists set up spotting scopes to view one of the bald-eagle nests in...

We have stayed at the White Oak Inn on numerous occasions and each time Yvonne and Ian have gone to extra lengths to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. I didn’t think it was possible, but this past weekend they surpassed all previous efforts when they welcomed 22 members of our extended family for a reunion. The end result was...

Thank you for your kind words and for letting us be part of your special get-together. We love having family groups here. The inn was originally built as a multi-generational family home and suits the purpose well.

For Christmas, our children gave us a weekend at this B&B. We can't say enough about our stay here. First, the food was exceptional. Breakfast both days, was full of a different twist on routine breakfasts. Saturday, we had carrot cake waffles and an egg dish that was savory, light, and filled with flavor. This was accompanied by bacon, blueberry...

Thank you so much for your kind words. We always try to make our breakfast menus interesting and fun for our guests. The Pottery, Art and Artisan tour is one of our personal favorites. There are so many talented and original local artists in this area and we're glad to help other people discover their work too.
