Great food. Great hosts. Romantic setting. Loved every minute. Get one of the hot tub cabins if you can. It's BYOB however and no good liquor or wine stores close by so be warned. Hosts have a dog and cat with free access to main house if that bothers you. Also a couple of sheep in the barn. Feed 'em...

I've been to the Inn several times over the years. Ian and Yvonne are the best innkeepers, very personable, yet their dog Dougle is the friendliest! I stay in the cabins and the Jacuzzi is great, the fireplace warm and inviting. The breakfasts are over the moon, choose the half and half, you always get two choices. The dinners are...

This was our second stay at the White Oak Inn in Danville, Ohio. My very positive review from a few years ago still mostly holds. The innkeepers Ian and Yvonne have owned and run the property for 22 years and live on-site. They are experts at the art of innkeeping - they are friendly and explain things well, but don't...

After driving nearly 300 miles, this was a find. The place, the people, the grounds, the character. Not to be missed. Ian and Von have shared their lives and heart with each of us. They shared history of the inn, their lives, the home, and topped it off with a beautiful breakfast, from Von's own creation. Thank you all so...

If you plan to visit the Ohio Amish country, Kenyon College, or Mount Vernon this is a very nice place to stay. The hosts are charming and helpful. Breakfasts are plentiful and tasty. Very quiet, but easy distance to many central Ohio towns and attractions. If you like a place in the country, this will be a great spot for...

Stayed there alone while on a bike trip. Room clean but very small. Nice grounds. The problem was I was seated with a couple at breakfast, and none of us was asked if this was ok with us. I was working thru a loss and wanted to be alone. Perhaps they wanted couple time, I don't know. But we should...

I apologize to the writer that we were insensitive to his or her needs. Normally we have communal tables at breakfast unless guests request otherwise. While generally single travelers enjoy the company of other guests rather than eating alone we agree that this option should be presented to the guests themselves ahead of time and will try to do so...

Found this country inn on the internet and our experience was disappointing. On-line photos made our premium suite look like it was worth the upgrade -- not so. Room was simply a little larger bedroom. Two reading chairs separated across the room with no lamp or outlet for reading -- we had to rearrange the room in order to have...

It's always a disappointment to us to hear that a guest was less than satisfied with their stay at the inn. Perhaps another room would have met these particular guests' needs better than the one they booked. If they had mentioned their concerns to our manager at the time of their stay she would have been happy to show them...

We recently stayed here when we were picking up a new puppy from a nearby breader. We were very excited about the pup so we did not get to spend much time here, but we loved the place and Ian and Yvonne (and their dog) so much that we really want to come back in the Summer time or Fall....

Spent a night at the White oak recently while touring through central Ohio. Our room was in the guest house in the back of the property. A clean specious room, very comfortable with a REAL wood-burning fireplace. No gas, just the real thing, all set up with wood and ready to light. Big king and super comfy. Breakfast was delicious,...

I recently spent a girls getaway weekend with 2 friends at the White Oak Inn. We had a weekend package that included 2 breakfasts and a dinner one evening. We stayed in one of the 2 newer cabins on the property, which had 1 bedroom and a sleeper sofa in the living room. The cabin was very clean and spacious...

Nestled in a wooded valley in Ohio's Amish area, The White Oak Inn bed and breakfast offers a comfortable secluded retreat. Ten comfortable guest rooms and two luxurious log-cabin cottages are offered. Some rooms have fireplaces and whirlpool tubs. A full country breakfast is included in the room rate, and dinners and romantic dinner baskets for two can be ordered in advance. Our meals are carefully crafted using fresh local products whenever possible. Gluten-free, vegetarian and other special diets are cheerfully accommodated. There are plenty of recreational activities nearby, whether it's shopping in Ohio's Amish area, doing wine-tastings at local wineries, outdoor activities like canoeing, hiking or zip-lining, or just enjoying the beautiful scenery. During winter months we offer special events such as murder mysteries and dinner theater. The inn is not recommended for children under 12. ... more   less
